Chapter 1-Finally Back at home

The beautiful city of Magnolia lay elegently in the silvery moonlight under the dark cloudy night sky. Although it never sleeps at night but it doesn't mean that the night life down there was noisy and crowded. A smile crossed his face as he took in the usual scent of the city, a scent that he has missed for years.

7 long years.

His smile broke into a grin as the pinkette brushed his back of the head sheepishly, thinking about everyone back at home.

"Oii!! Minna!!! Are you all well?!!!" He shouted from the top of the cliff he was standing on.

Of course,he knew that they won't be able to hear him from here but he just had this URGE to yell at the top of his lungs for some reason.

He was going home.

The thought had made him feel entirely warm inside when his eyes started to get moist with,ah yes, tears. He wasn't afraid of being called "weak" for crying now. Who on earth will not want to cry when they are 'this' close to home after 7 long hard lonely years?

He felt the warm tears fell down along his face and onto the ground. His facial structures had changed now, given that he's already a man of age 25 now. His once boyish features had grown into those of a mature man along with his height, which had grown for a bit. His pink hair was still spiky and messy as ever but in a more decent-looking way.

What changed the most were his eyes.

They were not as large as they used to be, but they had become narrower a little and sharper around the edges. His ebony eyes were now shining with warm tears flowing down alongside of his strong jaw line.

He was carrying a backpack while wearing some black sleveless vest with his usual white pants which were tied at the lower part of his knee. His shoes were black sandals which were obviously nearly worn out indicating the long journey he had travelled so far.

His favourite muffler was wrapped around his neck but it was definitely somewhat shorter now. It had a rugged end showing it was torn long ago. The dirt and the stains showed that it had been together with its owner for all these 7 long faithful years.

Natsu rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands and smiled again. He had made 'this' nearly back to home. He had strived his very best and survived every struggle to make his way home.

And he couldn't wait.

He couldn't wait to see his guildmates, his nakama who had been waiting for him all these years. Master, or Gramps as he usually called, would be extremely happy that one of his child had came home after a very long time. His life-long brawl with Gray hadn't ended either, nor his vow to defeat Erza nor becoming an S-class mage, but he was pretty sure he could become one with his current strength. Easily, to add in.

(Some habits never change, I know..A/N sigh*)

He had many things to tell Gajeel and Wendy and even those pathetic Sting and Rogue. Also THAT Cobra. He let out a heavy sigh as he remembered the task he had to carry out no matter what, as the responsibility of being a dragon-slayer.

He shook his head and cleared his thoughts. He could always worry about those later but his first priority now is to go back home, the guild that he had loved since he was a little kid.

Fairy tail.

He could see the huge guild flag from the place the guild building had located. Wow, the guild had been upgraded a lot in the past years and his eyes widened in disbelief as he saw the huge castle-like guild building which was the biggest building even in a great city like Magnolia.
