Stan looked around at the other sirens and merpeople, but he couldn't spot Mabel or Dipper anywhere! Then he saw a flash of pink in the distant dark waters and he felt relief flood his body, his tension being released. Something was wrong though... He couldn't see Dipper anywhere and Mabel was swimming in fast, panic dancing in her eyes. As she got closer, he noticed her trembling and shaking and finally colliding into him with a hug, sobbing. "He's gone! They took him! I-I tried to help! But it was already too late! And then they yanked him out of the water and!! Oh I didn't know what to do! He told me to get you but now he might be lost or even dead! It's all my fault! Gruncle Stan it's all my fault!" She sobbed, clinging to him. Stans heart dropped. Dipper was... It was his fault, if he didn't anger the boy, if he had just reacted better!
Reaching down, he hugged Mabel back and slowly pried her off. "There is still time. What did the ship look like? Which direction did it go?" He asked, careful to keep his voice from shaking. She sniffled.
"It was black, with gold human letters on the side, I-I think it was going toward the moon..." Mabel replied.
"Wendy! Form a search team! We are getting Dipper back! I'll need the best singers we have!" Stan ordered and grabbed a spear. "I also need merpeople, the most accustomed to land!" Mabel tugged on his arm and he looked down.
"I want to help. Dipper needs me," she said, determination filling her eyes as fear was washed away. There was no convincing her otherwise.
"Alright kid."

Bill kicked over his desk, clearly pissed off. That stupid damn fish was acting like a brat, even worse, he knew that that fish was probably smarter than three quarters of it's kind. Which meant it knew how to bargain and how to get leverage. The pissed off pirate needed a different approach. Clearly, it knew he was up to something, why couldn't it just roll over and do as he says? Sure he could just kill this one and get another one and that costs time, not to mention that this little colony was the only one marked in the book and pine trees little fishy friends won't get near this ship again... It would take months to find a new colony, and more months to actually catch one, they only just got lucky with this one was because it was stupid enough to get it's tail tangled.
Maybe he needed to start small. Give the stupid fish food in exchange for answered questions. Maybe he could have it translate the book while he waited. That wasn't too bad of an idea! While he learned more secrets of the third journal, he would gain the trust of little Pine Tree, and then he would strike! Get it to hand over a tooth and then he could sell it to the highest bidder! But there was a chance the fish would never give him the tooth, he needed a back-up plan...
Then. It hit him. The highest bidder, could force the tooth, and send it to him instead. Why didn't he think of that before? It was brilliant! An old fool could have thought of it! Ah he had a plan at last! Two plans! Nothing would ruin this good mood!
(A bit short this chapter, but that's alright. Bill shouldn't say things like that. Then the universe HAS to ruin it for him.)
