Chapter Thirteen

A/N: Here's my favorite song  for y'all to chill to while reading this chapter. Alina Baraz, everybody. Enjoy!

"Jerkton, I'm so hungry. This car ride is going on since forever," I complained.

"Can't you wait?" He snapped.

"I've been waiting for like-"

He cut me off, "One hour, one fucking hour."

"That's like 3,600 seconds of my life!" I groaned.

"Clap, clap, Math wizard," he said sarcastically.

"Actually, I used a calculator," I said.

"Where is it, then?" He seemed confused.

"Here it is!" I gave him the bad finger.

Colton got so irritated, "very smart, bitch."

I laughed so hard like a lunatic, "I just owned your ass, babe!"

"Alright, no food for you, then," he smirked.

I grabbed his arm, "Wha~t?"

"Get your hands off of me! Do you want us to die?" He said abruptly.

"Yes, but only you," I smiled devilishly.

He stopped arguing and ignored me until it was dead silent inside the car. Why is he so bipolar? I can never understand this guy. Ever.

"Hey," I silently said, almost like a whisper.

"Hm?" He grumbled.

"I am hungry," I said shyly.

He didn't respond, but he took a right turn to a gasoline station where fast food chains vary. There's McDonald's, KFC, Burger King and a small place that seemed quite unfamiliar to me. Colton drove past all the those restaurants without asking me what I want and went straight to the unknown eatery which was on the last lot of the gas station. Is it me or Colton is really getting creepy? He got so quiet all of a sudden and now he's taking me to this weird place? Will he make me eat fresh human limbs? Or grilled human ears? My inner conscience says 'Somebody help! I am going to get savaged by a hot guy!'.

 Just breathe, Acacia.

"Are you sure you're not going to get me murdered?" I blurted out.

"I'd love to, but we still need to finish a project," he stated.

"Okay then," that got me relaxed, so I stopped worrying and stayed put until we reached the eatery.

We got down the car and this diner didn't seem to cook and sell human body parts after all. An old lady greeted us in and she looked like she knew really well Colton because they hugged each other and also, she was so delighted to see Colton because she was patting him on the back excitedly as we entered the diner.

The old lady's eyes averted to me and she looked shocked, but in a good way.

"Oh! You are the first ever girl Colton brought here," she sounded very pleased. "Please, this way, you are more than welcome!"

I blushed, "Thank you so much for welcoming me."

I took a seat beside Colton and the old lady handed us a classic looking menu. They serve from breakfast to lunch, and the food they dish out looks so homely, it looks like what mothers cook. Wow, yum! I totally changed my mind about this diner now.

"Don't get too excited, I know it's yummy and I also know how hungry you are," Colton finally spoke up.

"Thanks for speaking," I mumbled.
