Run. Run. Run I repeat the mantra in my head. Don't look back. Don't turn around. Ignoring the voice in my head I turn and all I see are his piecing blue eyes, glowing brightly in the darkness of the night. Faster. I try keeping a constant pace, but my feet fail me and I trip.
Get up! I yell to myself, but it's too late I feel him grip onto my shoulder. I try with all of might to escape him. He won't let go. I make a brave move and rake my nails across his face. Shocked his grip loosens, I take that opportunity to make a run for it.
I hear voices, and see the faint glow of a fire. This is my only hope.

The first thing I hear is the thudding of feet hitting the dead leaves. Suddenly a girl appears in front of me, her hair dirty and matted, and her clothes tattered and torn. Two words escape her lips before she falls into my arms. "Help Me."
"Shit. What do we do?" Simon asks me.
I don't answer him, instead I look at the girl in my arms, her eyes are closed, air barely escaping her lips, her rosy lips pursed out and slightly ajar. I trace the shape of her face.
"Kai, answer me. What do we do?" Simon repeats.
"We help her Si, we help her." I say "You pack up camp and I'll get her to the car. Hurry Simon."
I carry her limp body to the car and place her across the backseat as gently as I can. I jump in the driver's seat and start the engine. Pushing up my glasses I turn around and look at the girl. Her body stirs, and her eyes flutter open. She takes in her surroundings and tries to sit up and winces in pain.
"Hey. Take it easy." I tell her, reaching for her
"W-where are you taking me?" she asks her voice shaky.
"The hospital. Titans Peak Central."
"N-no. Not the hospital." She says in a rush.
"But-"she grips onto my arm and looks at me her eyes pleading.
"Please." She whispers.
"But where do I take you, you look hurt."
"I'll be fine, just please not the hospital." She lets out, sleep taking over her again.
Simon decides to appear just then. He loads the sleeping bags and cooler box in the boot and jumps in the passenger seat. I drive as fast as I can
"Hey Kai, I'm pretty sure you missed the turn for the hospital." Simon says. I ignore him.
"Kai." Just ignore him I tell myself she said I shouldn't take her to the hospital.
As I pull into my driveway I can tell Simon is pissed.
"You open the door, I'll carry her in."
"No, what the fuck dude. You should've taken her to the hospital." Simon practically yells.
"She didn't want to go to the hospital." I say, my jaw tightening.
"Your dad is a fucking cop. What would he say if he saw you doing this." Thank god dad isn't home or I'd be in deep shit. Like six feet deep shit.
"Well we're already here, so let's just get her inside." I say trying my best not to make Simon angrier.
"Fine." He huffs out.

I open my eyes to darkness. My head hurts, my back is numb, I'm filthy and I don't know where I am. Wonderful. Just fucking wonderful. I find myself covered with looks like a tacky leather jacket. I get up off of what I've come to realize is a bed I look to my left and see a boy sleeping in a chair, he looks about sixteen, seventeen or so. I walk past him to the nearest door I see. To my luck it's a bathroom.
I take a quick shower and get rid of my ruined clothes. I go back into what I assume is the boy's bedroom and find some of his clothes to wear I grab a duffel bag from the bottom of his cupboard and fill it with some food from the kitchen, another pair of clothes and some cash from his piggy bank, but like seriously though who at this age still has an actual piggy bank. I shrug on the leather jacket that was previously draped across me.
I see his glasses on the counter and decide to try them on. My first reaction is Whoa! The fuck is this kid blind or something?
"It suits you." A voice says
"Fuck!" I shout
"Where are you going?" he asks and I ignore him taking off the glasses.
"So you're gonna take my food, clothes, money and use up the hot water yet you can't tell me where you're going." He states. Well way to make a girl feel like shit. But it's for the best. I can't have someone like him interested in me. I can't get too close.
I pick up the duffel bag and walk towards the door. Just as I'm about to open it he interrupts me.
"Can I at least have your name?" he asks.
My name. My name. Do I even have a name anymore, or is it just a bunch of words that don't mean anything with the same letters, different personalities. Most probably the latter. I have no name, no identity. I am nobody, at least not anymore.
"Goodbye Kaison Tyler Matthews."
