I woke up to my alarm clock beeping at me telling me it was time for school. I swear I wanted to rip it out of the wall and throw it across the universe. I did not under any circumstance wanted to go to school today. I didn't want to face my friends asking if I was okay. Neither did I want to face my teachers with all the work I had to make up and all the tests that were unfinished.I left to go see my family living in Hawaii because my grandpa and uncle have passed away and my family and I just needed a break. We were gone for days after days. No contact with friends nor teachers. No work done.
I am here standing in front of the school overwhelmed by the mass amount of people. I wanna hide in the bathroom and never come out. I look up at the school name, High School 341. Man, I didn't miss this place one bit.
"Hey Sedona!," I hear someone shout my name. I turn around on my heals and see someone walking towards me. Yep that's my best friend Carrie. "Hey!," I yell to her. "How are you?," she says. Yep, there we go the big question i was dreading. "I'm fine," I say giving a surprisingly good fake smile. Really in the inside I was broken down.
My friend living in Florida is coming back to Illinois. I can't wait any longer now. I struggle through the rest of classes. Same thing being said over and over. I wish it was as easy as flicking my light on in the morning. Just getting these tests over with and goodbye. How hard to teachers have to make this but, unfortunately it has to be fair for every student. Well, finally the day has come to an end. Walking down to the gym I hear the squeaks of basketball shoes contacting the court making a high pitched scream. Calling me to hurry it up and get ready. Man I don't know if I missed this either.
I run up and down the court struggling behind everyone else. I hate the feeling of being underestimated by everyone else. Just because I am smaller and maybe a tad out of shape doesn't mean I can't work hard and accomplish my goals like everyone else does. I can be strong but I can be sneaky.
After about two and a half hours later I stood in the locker room changing. I changed back into my elegant skirt that makes me feel like a princess when I walk. The bottom hitting against the back of my leg as I walk. The little things that you only understand if you do them. I slip into a plain white shirt with a maroon scarf because it is fall. My hair looks like a nest of some sort so I spray in some dry shampoo and tie my hair in a messy bun.
I am dressed ready for the mall I go out of the locker room being the last one to leave I make sure the doors lock behind me. I pull out my keys from my bag and find my car that is the only one left in the parking lot. I open the door of my new Mazda 6 car that I got recently for a present that I just got as a surprise. I close the door behind me making a thud noise. Some giant black and white dice dangle from the review mirror. I back out of the parking space turning my the wheel to the right. I push on the gas leaping forward and once I'm on the rode I roll down the windows feeling the wind run through my hair getting tangled but I don't pay attention.
