Chp. 1: Family

Hello guys! Welcome to my little Attack on Titan spinoff! I would like you to know that this story contains sexual situations, happy stuff (sorry I'm lazy to explain) and angst situations as well. A lot of gore and blood also occurs so please be wary of that.... Without further ado.... (Is that how you spell it? XD) Here is my story.....

Tiny little bells jingled as the door opened, revealing a tiny little girl smiling. Skipping happily up to the counter, the old man smiles back at her, before turning around to grab two little chocolate bars from the shelf behind him.

"The usual?" He asks, putting them on the counter.

"Yes, sir!" The little girl squeaks, setting the money on the counter; before quickly grabbing the bars, throwing them in her satchel. Then, she leaned forward on the counter, as the old man turned his back around to organize the fruits and candies on the walls. "How is business today, Eddie?"

"The same steady pace, Alexa." He pauses. "Today is a special day, right?" In reply, Lexi gives out an excited squeal. "Isn't your father coming back today?"

"Y-yes sir!" Lexi responds, a little sad, for it seems Eddie had actually forgotten about her birthday. Resting her head in her hand on the counter, Lexi pouts a little and sighs. She was pretty sure she mentioned it a couple of days ago.......But remembering as what was going to happen later, she continued to talk excitedly. "Today, we are going to make some vegetable soup, and then go to the park!"

"That's great, Alexa!" Eddie smiles, turning around; his tired eyes watching Lexi's expression. Taking a step forward he ruffles Lexi's hair, and chuckles. "Did you really think I would forget about your birthday?" A little shocked, Lexi smiles up to Eddie.

"Y-you actually scared me for a second! I guess you aren't that old after all!" Lexi laughs along with Eddie, as he lightly hits her on top of the head with the newspaper.

"Don't call me old, young lady!" Eddie jokes, quickly setting the paper back down on the counter again. "You are turning what, six today?"

"Haha, Eddie no! I'm turning 8!" Lexi laughs, and bounces on her toes.

"Oh, I was off by two years, eh?" Eddie smiles and walks towards the door in the back, quickly grabbing a plate that holds a small cake. "Happy birthday, Alexa." He smiles and turns around to grab a cloth and a fork, setting them in front of her.

"T-thank you, Eddie.....but I-I don't think I can afford this....." Lexi felt really grateful that he was thinking of her, but however she did not expect him to go out of his way to make her a cake..... All she was expecting was a nice and simple "Happy Birthday." Eddie, still smiling, pats her head.

"Now, don't refuse my offer. Eat up!" Eddie says with a gentle voice.

"B-But I couldn't....." Lexi hesitates, not wanting to take Eddie for granted. Yes, she has known him for a while...but she couldn't do it. She couldn't take it when she knew she could not pay in return.

"Oh just take it already! Alexa, if you are really that worried for payment, you could just clean some dishes afterwards. Will that make you feel better?" Eddie came up with a quick solution, looking down to Lexi. He knew her a bit too well, after coming into this shop after years and years....

"O-okay!" Lexi finally answers, feeling like it would help Eddie in the long run. But as Lexi was about to reach for the fork, a young boy runs through the door panting.
