I close the door behind me awkwardly, not yet looking at my surroundings. I turn and elbow into a table. That's always a great start. I wince from the pain and hope to god they aren't looking. Luckily for me, they weren't.
I look around and see a bunch of kids I've never seen before. I see Anna, my dad's girlfriend. She's picking up endless amounts of toys scattered throughout the house. I don't think anyone noticed me yet. My dad goes towards the living room and plops on the couch. "Alyssa is here" he said softly. He always speaks soft, like he's too shy to say anything. That explains where I got my shyness from.
They look up, as if they had no idea I was coming, and they smile politely. Anna stands up, hugs me, and says "I missed you! Let's go look at your room." I follow her, looking at the eyes fixated on me. I have to climb over a baby gate on the stairs for Damon, apparently that's my brothers name. I haven't seen him yet. I wonder if he's sleeping.
Anna and I both get upstairs and she shows me my room. Um, why does it look like two other kids stay on the other side? "Adam and Jesse's side of the room is over there." Anna says. Great, I get to share a room with two little loud boys. Boys. I don't like boys. Anna notices my facial expression and quickly says "We'll have to get a divider so both of you have privacy." I shake my head and put my bag down on my new bed.
It was a hard and stiff mattress. Either way, I was tired. "I'll leave you to get used to it, I'm making dinner soon." Anna said, turning away to go downstairs. "Thank you" I say lightly. I don't know how to feel about this place yet. I think I just need to get some sleep, then my head will be clearer. I put my bag on the floor, get comfortable on the bed, and close my eyes.
A/N - Hope you guys liked that chapter. I'm very sorry that I haven't been updating in a long time, but I'm going to start making time for it. I'll have another chapter very soon. I love you all! ~Cheyenne (NoodleLlama)
