Ring, ring, ring!
“Hello, who is this?”I scratched my head and said with a tired voice.
“Where the hell are you? I left the airport an hour ago! I thought you said that we were gonna hang out, as soon as I landed.”Ethan shouted over the phone.
“I’m coming, where are you right now?” I said trying to ease his temper.
“I’m at the Starbucks, around the corner from the Marmalade hotel. Just meet me there!” He says calmly.
“Sure uh….Can you buy me a cup of hot chocolate, I haven’t eaten breakfast yet.”I said sweetly.
“Yeah, sure no problem Heather.” He said as his temper slowly subsides.
We both hung up. I was so excited that I jumped up, out of my bed. Brushed my teeth quickly, and I ran back into my room for my purse. I remember the heart necklace Aunty Katie gave me that I had put in my purse once she left. So I opened the case and, I put it around my neck.
“Well, that’s weird.” I said in a strange tone.
I felt so tingly inside. My whole body was itching, but I couldn’t help but to scratch. Then the itching felt as if I was being tickled in my back. I laughed so hard that the echoes of my voice, had bounced off the walls in my room. The heart necklace started to light up. The more I laughed brighter it was. I wonder why?
My heart started to beat faster, the suddenly I felt something pushing oout of my back. When I ran into the bathroom to check what had been going on behind me, all I had seen was wings.
“What the hell! You’ve gotta be kidding me” I yelled.
I don’t get how my wings could've been summoned. Better yet, since when did I have wings. What the hell! They were tinted blue and soft. It didn’t look like the ones I saw in movies. But it was weird! It’s like it had a mind of it's own. My wings started to wiggle. I couldn’t help, but to pull a feather out. Blouse and skirt! That definitely wasn’t a good Idea.
“Ugh…Nice going Heather” I mumbled to myself.
That hurt so much!
The more I checked the time, it flew right past me. I was so frustrated; Ethan would never be able to forgive me, after this. Since I blew him off at the airport letting him wait for hours; and even now I got to find a way to put my wings back.
“Think Heather, Think” I said softly as I closed my eyes.
I guess thinking, was a remedy for stress. I couldn’t help thinking about Ethan's buff arms and the dimples that he always showed, when he laughed.
As I opened my eyes, my wings were gone! But my necklace had finally stopped lighting up, so I yanked off the necklace and threw it inside my purse. Then I was on my way.
--------------------------------------------------------
I heard whistles and horn blows go off, as I made my way down the street. Older men smiling, and watching me as I walked. I guess I had forgotten that the top I had on, made my boobs look bigger. As I passed The Marmalade hotel, around the corner I started to see the Starbucks which Ethan was at. But for some reason, some man in a long black coat. Like from my pervious dream that I had in the car, which my father woke me up from. Walked passed me, and stared long and hard. When I turned back to look, he was gone. My purse started to vibrate, and I shuffled around all my stuff to see what had caused the vibration. But it wasn’t my phone. It had been the necklace. Why was it going off in the penthouse, and on the street. I started to become scared, but I tried really hard not to show it.
As I made my way to Starbucks I had seen Ethan sitting along at a table, looking extremely pissed. His emotions changed from mad, to shocked in seconds, as I walked closer towards him. I guess the top worked, after all. Poor Ethan just couldn’t resist me. Wait, what the hell am I saying? I noticed that he wasn’t staring at my boobs, or even at my tight fitting jeans. He was staring at my hair. Oh no! Shit.
“Wow…..um…Heather. Why is your hair burning in purple flames?”He said in a frightened tone.
Great! Now how the hell am I suppose to explain this. The only thing that I could do was, close my eyes and just think.
