Chapter 1

"Cora," he said, his voice low.

I walked up to him, stopping about a foot away. His black hair was styled perfectly and his brown eyes were covered by sunglasses. He was wearing all black, like he usually does, but today he wasnt wearing a jacket.

"Hey," I gave him my best fake cheery voice, "great to see you but I have school so if you could fuck off, that'd be fantastic."

"You have something I want."

I smirked. "I have something every boy wants."

I walked past him up to my school, shoving a group of freshman out of my way to get to the door. When I walked in, everyone made a path for me to walk through. Most people stopped what they were doing and stared, and some whispered to their friends. Was this because I was popular? Hardly. It was because I was the resident bad girl, I was always getting in trouble and people were terrified of me.

"Move," I said to someone standing by my locker.

They shifted a few feet and I opened my locker, switching books. I heard the clicking of heels and a usual blonde haired bimbo appeared out of the corner of my eye.

"There's a rumor you started a business so you can fuck boys every night," Chloe said.

"That's why they're rumors," I said emotionlessly, putting some books I know I wouldn't use into my locker so I didn't have to carry them.

"You better stay away from Michael," she hissed.

I slammed my locker shut.

"I don't want your sorry excuse for a man," I said flatly, "Now move out of my way before I slam that pretty head of yours into a locker."

I started walking away and saw the familiar faces of Ethan and Grayson Dolan. You have to be kidding me, right? I have to deal with those happy, cheerful optimists at home everyday, and now they go to my school too? This day could not get worse.

"Hey, you!" Ethan yelled at me.

Well, it just got worse. I walked up to them, leaning in close.

"Don't talk to me," I said, "When we're here, we don't know each other. You don't know me, I don't know you. I don't need boys like you coming in here and messing up my life."

The bell rang and every started rushing to get to class. I shoved past them, going to first period. Normally I would skip, but I'm on the verge of dropping out and I really can't do that. And sadly, first period if English. It might be somewhat good, if I didn't have an 80 year old teacher who just read weird old books to us all class and was hard of hearing. Make that virtually deaf.

I sat down in the back and got comfortable, this was the only class I could take a nap in and not get in trouble. The doors opened and I looked up to see, you guessed it, Ethan and Grayson.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me," I said, "Seriously, couldn't give me a break?"

Grayson sat next to me and Ethan sat in front of him. When he turned and saw me, his face lit up and a smile grew across his face.

"Hey it's you," he said, "You know, I still didn't catch your name."

"That's because I never told it to you," I growled, already annoyed with them.

"Well could you maybe tell me now?"

"Sure," I said, "But I'm not going to."

Ethan looked a little hurt, and for the first time in my life I felt a little bad about being rude. I pushed the feeling away, I couldn't get soft. I needed to stay sharp for Jackson.
