"Niomi," I called, stepping into the door and looking around.

"In here!" I heard her call from the end of the corridor, and I smiled before picking Cosy up and walking towards the voice. "I was just telling Vicky a story, wasn't I!" She said, turning to Vicky and grinning, Vicky nodding in return.

"And what story is that?" I said, kneeling down so I was face to face with Vicky, and as I did so, I saw Niomis hand twitched slightly.

"She told me the story of prince Alfie!" And in that moment, I felt myself twitch as well. "The one where he went to the tower to find the princess but when he got there, the princess had been stolen!" Vicky seemed so excited about the story... She didn't know the half of it.

"That's a very nice story, Vicky! Now, you two go get dressed out of your uniforms!" I said, smiling and pushing them out of the room before turning to Niomi.

"Why are you going and telling my kids stories about Alfie? Literally none of that situation matters to them! Anyway, Alfie is irrelevant in my life now!" I said, getting more and more annoyed by my words.

"Look I'm sorry, it's just, Alfie was the first name to come to my head and I just kind of went with it... You know I don't mean to hurt you." She touched my arm reassuringly before smiling at me. "Anyway, i have to go... I'm meeting a friend."

I rolled my eyes before saying, "Not before you give me a hug." She gave me a confused look and so I continued, "Because,mi never let anyone leave me thinking I'm mad at them."

"You left Alfie letting him think you were mad at him." She mumbled, still hugging me anyway.

"Okay, seriously, what is going on? How could not realise that I don't want anything to do with Alfie! Stop trying to bring him back into my life or making em feel bad Niomi! Me and Alfie finished long ago and just because he's back living in he village doesn't mean I'm going to run back into his arms!" I yelled, only to see Niomi looking behind me.

"Well, I was going to surprise you by coming home from work early, but looks like you have other people on your mind." Luke said, his smiling dropping as he looked down and walked away, Niomi stopping me before I could follow him.

"Look Im going to go, but just think about it. Maybe it was fate that brought you and Alfie together!" She smiled at me before walking directly towards the door and leaving, not looking back.

"So... Whose Alfie?" I heard Luke say from behind me, which startled me as I hardly heard him walk down the stairs.

"Alfie... It's that boy from 10 years ago... The high school boy..." I said, looking down and clearing my throat. The awkward essence in this room was awful.

"If it's been 10 years, why were you and Niomi talking as though this was somehing recent..." Luke said, looking up at me. It was only at this point I had realised he had been crying.

"Luke, what's wrong? What did you think?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows and walking over to him .

"It sounded like Alfie was someone recent... Fuck, I thought you were cheating on me Zo." Luke scratched the back of his head awkwardly before tightly wrapping. An arm around me.

"Cheating on you? I thought you knew I'd never cheat on you." I paused, stepping away from him slightly. "Is that really how much you trust me?"

"Zoe, I didn't mean it like that-"

"Save it." I said, before pushing past him and walking straight out ge front door, needing time to myself.

Aye this was shit but I'm sorry I'm tired and stressed and depressed and like all my insecurities are hitting me right now so I, not in a good state to write but I felt like you guys deserve an update

Also, I got a B- on my drama practical today so I'm happy with that :)
