It was a quiet night, in the big city. Amia and some of her friends went out to celebrate her engagement, but she had no idea that she wasn't going to live to see her wedding.
The bar started to get crazy! People throwing beer bottles and punching other drunk people. She couldn't hear what her friends were saying. You know how in Charlie Brown the parents and teachers don't speak, it's just noise, well that's what she hearing from her friends. But what she could hear was breaking glass, swearing, commotion and you know, the usual bar noises.
Then in the corner of her eye, Amia caught a glimpse of a man. He's tall, lean, deep green eyes and a chiselled face. He was staring at her with his strikingly deep green eyes. She shook it off, and she thought he was studying something beyond her. A little while later she needs to use the bathroom, too much beer and tequila shots. The man who has been observing her, the entire time, followed her. After she was finished, she walked out of the bathroom but before Amia could react, the man put his hand over her mouth.
Panic and terror filled her eyes. Her adrenaline started pumping. She tried to fight the man but it didn't work. He picked her up, putting her over his shoulder. She furiously kicked her legs but it didn't help. The man started to wander away from the crowd of people with Amia over his shoulder. Amia tried to yell but he was quick to tie a rag around her mouth and he also chains her hands together. He walked towards a different door. It creaked, slowly opening. The guy wanders into the night, Amia felt a cold gust of air brushed up against her arm. It was quite loud, from all the city noises, and taxis speeding by. The air thick with the stench of urine and garbage. He chucked Amia on the filthy pavement, causing her to smack her head. He took a few steps back, then he pulled out a knife.
She started to crawl away from the man, but by doing so she backed herself into a corner. No way of escaping. Surely her friends would have noticed that she been missing, but they are too drunk too.
No one notices she was missing and when the cops found her body no one knew who caused her death.
Something like this happens to too many girls. Weathers it's someone raping a girl, kidnapping or killing. It happens way too much. If you ever go to a bar, go with a friend or a group of people. And never go to the bathroom alone. When you are alone, you are more vulnerable than when you are with people. The same goes for in a big event, NEVER be by yourself. If you don't have a friend to go with you, then make the right decision and don't go.
But if you do then have something to protect yourself or have/do one or more of the following:
-Pepper spray
{If you don't want pepper spray, have a small bottle of hairspray or cleaner}-Any type of keys
{you can use them to stab}-Make sure someone knows where you are at all times
{Ex: if you going to the bathroom and you don't want a friend to come with you, tell your friend; "I'm going to the bathroom, if I'm not back in (this amount of time) come to get me}-Always have your phone
-Or something else
But whatever you do, please be safe. You may not know me and I may not know you but no one deserves to be treated like that.
