Janet walked in as Jakob held Jill's delicate right hand. Jill snatched her hands away from his warm grasp. If she told Janet what Jakob had said, Janet would have Jan move him out of the house.
Although Janet did not exude the same warmth, her reaching for the medical notes at the side of his bed indicated her contribution to his deliverance. He nodded gratefully. Jill watched through narrowed eyes as Jakob thanked Janet for her hospitality in German and English. She blushed relieved Jakob had not grabbed and planted a fevered kiss on Janet's hand.
Janet and Jill spoke to Jakob in English and German accompanied with gestures to explain words not understood. Jakob mistakenly believed German was widely spoken given the British royal family's heritage. Janet patiently explained that Cornwall had a distinct culture and language. As someone who self identified as Polish, he understood the nationalist sentiment.
Janet questioned Jakob and was able to establish that he was twenty five years old, had been displaced from home by heavy fighting on the Eastern Front in Galicia to the east of Kraków. His father, mother, brother and two sisters had not survived.
As Jakob spoke emotionally to the sisters, his riveting, dark eyes sought out Jill's green compassionate ones over and over. A silent, communication that made her feel possessed. She wrapped a sweater tighter over her slim curvaceous body.
His only living relation was an uncle in Kraków. He had recently set sail to America on the Queen Anne hoping for a new life in the New World as a musician. During the storm, he was swept overboard by a tidal wave. The basic facts Jakob gave the sisters was passed to the local authorities to corroborate with the Queen Anne's passenger list. In the meantime Jakob stayed with Janet and Jill.
"You have not had anything to eat since you were brought here yesterday morning. You must be famished," Jill spoke softly to Jakob whilst rubbing her stomach.
"Nien....No," Jakob replied seemingly in pain.
"I don't think it becoming, Jill," Janet replied, "to gesture by opening your mouth and rubbing your stomach, like a cannibal."
Jill laughed self consciously as Jakob's smouldering eyes sparkled with renewed interest at her curvaceous body. He wanted to devour her. Jill changed the subject her eyes fleeting momentarily to Jakob. "It's warm in here, why is Jakob shivering."
"He has a fever," replied Janet as she handed Jakob pills to swallow. She placed a cool towel over his forehead.
As he drifted into a fitful sleep, the sisters made their way out of the guest room and to the kitchen where they discussed Jakob.
Dorcas poured out freshly brewed tea at the table in the kitchen. They all sat down and had the aromatic tea with Dorcas' homemade biscuits.
In the guest room, Jakob's dark eyes opened. He looked around for Jill who seem to see right through to his dark soul. She trusted him despite a disclosure that might have frightened off many women. She soothed the pain in his fevered body. He longed to hear his name on her lips.
***
Later that night, Jill found Jakob outside his room in fevered state. As she approached Jakob pressed a kiss onto her lips. Initially resistant, she yielded to his violently passionate embrace. He needed her and she became his lifeline.
She warmed him with her body until the fever broke. She woke to find his strong masculine hands explore the beautiful body he admired earlier in the day. Despite the fifteen year age difference, Jill was a virgin. His touch was bruising yet tender as he kissed her hands and full lips.
For the first time in his life, Jakob concentrated on giving pleasure more than receiving it. He made Jill reach the dizzying heights of ecstasy time and time again. Jakob's loneliness dissipated as their bodies united as one. He made love to her all night.
