Bowling Night

"So how are going to split up in teams?" Savanah asked.
"Couple versus couple?"Hale suggested.
"Yes! O my gosh we are going to crush you guys." Paris squealed putting an arm around Mason and glaring playfully at Savanah and Hale.
"Guys" I whined "You guys promised me I wasn't going to be the third-wheel." I looked pointedly at Hale since he started this couple vs. couple thing.
"Oh right,Kandy" he said nodding his head in my direction, "doesn't have a date."
I rolled my eyes. "I just don't have boyfriend right now, and if I had found the right guy I would date."I said in a matter of a fact way.
"Kandy, you haven't even had your first boyfriend yet and-" Savanah started to say sweetly but I cut her off.
"If I find someone who likes me for me and not just the way I look " I said moving my hand from the top of my head to my waist since we were sitting in the trunk of Hale's truck. "I would date him. You guys are lucky you guys already found someone you trust and mean it when you say I love you." I said motioning them with my hand.

  When my biological father found out my mom, Darcy, was pregnant he left her. She was a single parent for six years until she met Luke.
So, because of this im afraid to be with just anyone. Afraid that i will get hurt. Afraid that i would hurt someone.
Luke and my mom, Kim, went out for three years until he proposed to her where they first met, at my preschool.
He was a chaperone for a field trip and so was my mom. My mom was chaperoning Paris and I and Luke was chaperoning Hale and Mason. Luke is Hale's uncle and so Hale and I are basically cousins.

  Luke is a year older than my mom and he is very kind, he treats me as his own daughter and I love him but I just can't bring myself to call him dad for some reason. Luke is very tall, well for me since i am only 5.5ft, he is 5.11ft my mom is 5.5ft too.

  At first it was just Mason, Paris, Hale and I. Then Hale got a girlfriend, Savannah, who hated me because me and Hale were so close. She thought that we use to have a "thing", she didnt know we were cousins and when she asked if Hale and i dated before i laughed. I couldn't help it, she was so confused and mad and asked "yes or no?" I told her between laughs, "Hale is my cousin never did or will i ever think of him as a boyfriend."
  She apologized for two weeks for the way she treated me, i just found it hilarious that she would think that.

After Hale and Savannah started dating Mason, Paris and I would always tease Hale. Six months into their relationship I caught Mason amd Paris kissing under the bleachers. Turns out they had been dating for five months now and they didn't want me to feel like the only one in the group not in a relationship. I understood but i was still mad at Paris for keeping this secret from me for so long. After they told me that i just nodded and walked away. I needed time to myself, i just coundn't believe i didn't notice sooner.I didn't speak to anyone in the group for a week, when I found out Hale and Savannah also knew.

It has been 3 years since that happened. Both couples are still together and our group hasmt gotten any additions or broken broken apart.
