Chapter 9: My Sugar

Sophie's Pov

"So, I found out their names are Julian and Julius." Kenna said sitting down.

"So cliche, they had to have matching names." I scoffed.

"I just got here and I already want to break their necks." Luke said.

"Get in line." I said. Kenna looked at me. "So, tell me everything." She says excitedly. I told both of them everything, from the rogue attack when Rider saved me to Jonah driving me to school today.

"And that's why if you come over we won't be at my house." I finished.

"What is she talking about?" Luke says looking at Kenna.

"Well we haven't seen each other in awhile so I wanted to stay the night at her place but earlier she said that we wouldn't be at her house and she just explained why."

"No." Luke said sternly.

"What do you mean no."

"I don't want you staying at some other pack that's hours from here. I can't protect you. I especially don't want you around the mateless men in that pack."

"I'll be fine. Sophie will be there to make sure nothing happens to me." He didn't say anything. Hopefully this will change his mind.

"How about you guys call each other every hour after we get there and text or whatever. Keep in touch so you know she's okay. And just so you know, I will protect her with my life. I wouldn't let anything happen to her." 

He looked between us a couple of times before he sighed. "Fine, but if anything happens you let me know right away. I will be there so fast... " He looked at Kenna. "If you don't answer when I call, I will assume something is wrong and I will come for you."

 She nodded and he wrapped his arm around her, bringing her closer to him as he kissed her temple. I couldn't help but envy them.

I was sad. Rider wasn't here looking at me like the way Luke was looking at Kenna. I missed the protectiveness and determination in his eyes. The love and care he has for me. But no, I couldn't have that, instead he's missing and I'm living with another guy who I'm supposed to mate with. Which reminds me.

" Soph?" Kenna says, looking at me.

"Yeah?"

"You okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I just haven't been getting much sleep." Which was true.

 Changing the subject I said. "Anyways I just remembered that I have to call Alpha Mikaelson to ask if you can come over. I'll call him after our next class."
