The Hunted (Sequel to My Vampire Mate)

Chapter 8

Elena's pov

I was sat in the front room with Katherina, Damon, Dariela, Breccan, Kai and Cyra. The three children were sat on the floor playing with some toys and me, Katherina, Damon and Dariela were sat on the sofas talking. Amias walked in the room with Nathan behind him.

"Hey. Where did you two go?" I asked them.

"I needed to talk to Amias in private. He has something to tell Katherina." Nathan said.

"Well whatever you want to say to me you can say in front of everyone else"

"Okay. I'm a werewolf. I triggered the curse before I met you. This means that if Breccan ever kills a human he will trigger the curse as well."

"My son is a werewolf?! Why didn't you tell me when I told you that I was a hunter?"

"And tell you that I am the very thing that you hunt? I thought you would've killed me."

"And leave my son without a father?! I wouldn't have killed you. I would've accepted what you are! I'm willing to accept it now! You should've told me sooner."

A werewolf? I did not see that coming. At all. The room was silent. A knock at the door broke the silence in the room.

"I'll get it" I said. I got up off the sofa and walked to the front door.

I opened it and I was greeted with a very familiar face. Her dark hair went just past her shoulders. I haven't seen her for nearly a year but how could I forget my best friend?

"Hello Elena" she smiled.

"Hayley" I returned her smile. I pulled her into an embrace. "How are you? Its been a while."

"I've been good. It has been a while. How are you, Damon and the twins?"

"We're all good. Thanks. Come on in. I'm sure the twins will be happy to see you" I stepped aside and let her into my home. We walked into the front room together.

"Aunt Hayley!!!" the twins jumped up and ran to her as soon as they saw her.

"Hey guys! Wow you've grown so much since I last saw you" she hugged them both and kissed them on the forehead.

"Hayley. Long time, no see." Damon got up off the couch and went over to Hayley and gave her a friendly hug. "What are you doing here? You usually call before you come over to visit"

"Thought I would surprise you. And I have to share a secret with you guys"

"Of course. You can tell us anything. Before you do this is Katherina, her sister Dariela, her brother Nathan, her son Breccan and the father of her son Amias" I said pointing out each person. "Sit down and tell us this secret of yours."

Hayley nodded her head and sat down on the armchair across from where Damon and myself sat. "I know this is going to sound crazy but I have to tell you guys this. I'm...I'm half witch and half werewolf"

"Hayley that doesn't sound crazy at all. In fact Damon is a vampire and I am half witch and half angel and Nathan. Katherina and Dariela are hunters, Amias is a werewolf and so is Breccan and Kai and Cyra are Half vampire, quarter witch and quarter angel"

"Seriously?"

"Yeah" me and Damon replied at the same time. "There's something else you need to know about Kai and Cyra." I said and she nodded. "In a years time a demon is going to come for them which is why we have hunters living with us. They are going to help us kill this demon."

"Oh my God. Elena I will do whatever you need me to do in order to protect your children"

"Thank you Hayley." I turned to Nathan who was looking at Hayley. "Nathan. Should we start our training?" he looked at me, smiled and nodded.

"Let's get started" we all went into the back garden to begin our training. The children sat on the grass and played with their toys.

This is the beginning.
