Chapter 4

That was the most peaceful sleep that either one of them had in their whole lives. Aiden loved the fact that when he woke up Jersey was laying right there in his arms. It was still too early for him to get ready for school and he didn't want to wake her yet. She looked like an angel. Her hair flowed across the pillow and she held tight to him. Aiden laid there for a while just watching her sleep.

Finally, the time came that they needed to start getting ready for school. He got up as slowly as possible, trying not to startle her. He was finally able to sit up. He turned to her and started to whisper in her ear. She didn't wake right away. So he started to sing to her and her eyes fluttered open.

"Good morning beautiful. What do you want for breakfast?"

"I don't eat in the morning. It makes me sick."

"Do you at least want coffee or orange juice?"

"Maybe in like a half hour...after my nap. Night." She rolled over and pulled the covers over her head.

"No. You need to get up. We can't be late for school. You need to get your algebra grade up."

"What happened to my tutor? Didn't he tell me that he could make it a million times easier to understand? Speaking of tutor, you didn't tutor me last night."

"Well, some other things came up if I remember correctly." He laughed when he said this. "Come on. You need to get up. Don't make me have to get you out of bed myself. It won't be pretty."

"WHY DO YOU HATE ME THIS MORNING? What happened to all of the love from yesterday?"

"I love you enough to want you to pass algebra so you can play soccer. Please get up. I really don't want to have to take matters into my own hands."

"UGH!" She rolled over and threw the covers off of her. She gave him a look that could kill. "I hate the morning." He laughed at her and then wrapped his arms around her.

"You look good in the morning."

"I look like I just rolled out of a dumpster. What are you talking about?" He laughed at her again. Obviously she was not a morning person. It didn't bother him though. He thought it was cute and quite amusing.

"Do we need to go to your house to get you some clothes or are you going to just wear that?"

"Is there something wrong with what I am wearing?"

"No. You know how some girls are though. They need to pick out their outfit for school. Personally, I think it is kind of stupid, but hey. That's just me."

"I plan on wearing this and I am not like those girls. I don't care what people say about me." she said with attitude.

"And that, my dear, is one of the many things I love about you. Do you need to go to your house for anything at all?"

"I need my toothbrush. Other than that, nope."

"I have an extra one. So I guess we don't need to go to your house. Okay then. Let's start getting ready for school."

"Why are you so happy in the morning? There is nothing good about the morning. It only leads to school and being even more tired than when you woke up." She stopped dead in her tracks. "Oh crap. Did my mom call at all last night?"

"I don't think so." She grabbed her phone and checked. There were no voice mails. There were no text messages. There wasn't even a single missed call.

"Well I can see how worried she is about me."

"She probably thinks that you are fine. She knows that you were with me in a safe place so what is there to worry about?" She didn't say anything. Instead she just looked at him with hurt in her eyes. Then she turned around and walked to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth in silence. Aiden never came in the bathroom while she was in there. She was half expecting him to...but he never did.
