"How was school?" Alice, Amy White's mother asked. Amy remained quiet as she walked down the entrance hall with her duffel bag full of sweaty shorts and smelly socks. "Oh it was great." Alice mocked in a high pitched voice. Amy giggled.
"That's why I don't answer. You do it better than I could." Amy said quietly. She lifted her water bottle to her lips. Alice frowned as she remembered the announcement. "By the way, I know I promised you the weekend off, but I had to take an extra shift at the restaurant." She said, sympathy in her voice. "Mom, please. You told me I didn't have to." Amy moaned. Her mother sighed. "Sometimes things don't go your way." She mumbled, walking away. Amy, now with an attitude, moaned.
Meanwhile, Kelsey and her sister Cerise giggled like chickens in the hen house. "So you said she'll be walking by at any time now?" Kelsey asked impatiently. She had been scheming this out for a few weeks now. Her plan mustn't fail. "Yep. She's gonna be going to her work shift that she didn't want. She's not gonna go with her mom. That's for sure." Cerise said proudly, but deep down, she was petrified and didn't want to do this. She didn't even know if she would be coming by.
"Perfect. My plan won't fail." Kelsey laughed, applying a fresh coat of her bright red lipstick.
