Harry always thought that rainy days were sad and depressing. He hated the dark clouds that dominated the skies because he preferred the sunlight. He liked the nice warm light that filled the sky as the fluffy white clouds floated by. When it's dark and rainy outside it only reminds him of the dark cold days he spent under the stairs at the Dursley's when he was a child.

Today was one of those days he hated. It was dark and gloomy outside as the dark grey clouds rolled overhead, crackling with thunder and lightning. There was a thick pitter-patter of the giant raindrops on the sidewalk around him as he walked down the street on his way to the hospital. There was no sign of the sun through the depressing sky making it dimmer than normal outside. There was normally rain but usually only small raindrops and barely any clouds, but today there was a full on storm. It was brewing. The clouds got thicker and thicker as he continued down the street.

    The sky rumbled.

    A crack was heard.

    The rain got thicker.

    Harry didn't even notice.

He was too distracted by the thought of having to go back to the dreaded hospital. The hallways smelled of disinfectant all the time and it reminded him of death. To be quite honest it made him more depressed than storms. Especially because it's where he was. He was the only reason he bothered to go to the hospital. Harry knew he wouldn't last much longer but he still had hopes that he would because he promised he wouldn't leave Harry alone. He promised.

Harry arrived at the hospital and was filled with more and more dread as he got closer and closer to the automatic doors. He tracked in lots of water but the receptionist didn't seem to care. He approached her and she instantly recognized him from how often he visits. She nodded towards him but he didn't notice. He just walked by her as she pushed the button to unlock the doors behind her that led to the ward where he stayed.

Just like always the stench of cleaning chemicals and disinfectant filled his nose as he looked for room 214. It didn't take very long considering he knew this hospital like the back of his hand. He mindlessly walked through the mainly empty corridors, only bumping into a male nurse once while he walked passed the many empty rooms. After all this was the critical ward, and not many people in this hospital were ever in critical condition.

    209...

    210...

    211...

    212...

    213...

He finally found where he was going, room 214 of the critical condition ward at St. Hughston's Hospital. He slowly opened the soundless door, not even a creak sounding, and walked into the too-white room. There he rested, in the uncomfortable bed in the center of the room...

Draco Potter... Known as Draco Malfoy in his past years of living...

He slowly approached his husband of many faithful years with caution, being careful not to wake him from his slumbering state. Harry knew he preferred to be asleep because it was when he was in the least pain. Although he always got mad when Harry never woke him for his visits. He very silently sat in the metal chair that was placed next to his bed and watched his sleeping form.

His once porcelain Malfoy skin had somehow grown even whiter to the point you could see his veins, very vibrantly purple and blue on his white skin. He had major bags underneath his eyes even though all he seemed to do was sleep. His arms were unnaturally skinny just like the rest of his body most likely was. Harry couldn't tell though, as he had a thin white sheet draped over most of his body.

Through the window Harry could see the storm that had been all day. It seemed to calm down but was still rampaging outside.

Harry reached forward to stroke his hollowed out cheek but stopped as he shifted in his sleep, and his eyes fluttered open.

"H-Harry...?"

That one word sounded like it took an entire lung full of air to say, and it probably did. He smiled faintly at the his husband's limp form.

"Y-Yes dear, what is it?" He asked, taking Draco's hand gently into his own.

    "Am I going to die?"

Harry froze. He opened his mouth to deny the undeniable but couldn't produce any words. He say there with his mouth open, trying to think of what to say to help cheer up Draco and make him feel better. He thought of nothing.

"It's alright. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm completely okay with knowing I might not see the sun set tonight. It happens to everyone. Eventually we all pass on and the new generation takes our place. Sometimes when you marry someone they'll pass on before you and you'll mourn them for a while before you get over them. It's the circle of life." He said while weakly smiling.

"B-But what if I don't get over you..." Harry mumbles as he looked into Draco's eyes with tears in his own.

Draco smiled weakly once again, but it was a smile Harry loved. It showed he was happy even if he was in pain.

"Harry, do you love me?" Draco asked, a look of seriousness in his eyes.

Harry instantly began nodding his head quickly. "Why would you even question it? I will always love you. No matter what happens nothing will make me ever not love you." Harry said and kissed Draco's forehead gently.

Draco hummed. He closed his eyes. You could even see his veins on his eyelids.

"Harry I want you to promise me one thing. if i die, you have to keep living. I want you to enjoy life and forget about me. Move on. You know the old saying, if you love something let it go." Draco said with his eyes still closed.

Harry looked at him with disbelief. He couldn't promise anything like that. He would never forget about the love of his life and he would never let him go. He didn't care how much it would cost him, he would pay anything to keep him alive. At least then he could still hold him in his arms.

He was about to open his mouth to protest but Draco beat him to it.

"Just- Promise me that one thing... Please Harry..." He whispered.

Harry sighed before nodding. "O-Okay... I promise..." He finally whispered. This made Draco smile. That's when he heard it. The sound he had been dreading for months now.

...The flat line...

Harry freaked out and immediately screamed for help and slammed his hand on the call button for the nurses. Instantly five nurses and two doctors came running in and began to surround the bed and check his machines and such to see what was happening.

"W-What's happening?" Harry demanded to a doctor that was checking his machines. "His heart has failed. His lungs collapsed. Most of his vital organs cease to be working anymore... He's gone."

Harry couldn't do anything but sit back down in his chair. It was almost as if Draco were waiting for him to promise before he passed on. Then, in that moment, the stormy clouds that are visible outside the window parted in a way ever so slightly that a single ray of sunlight casted on the smiling face of Draco Potter.
