I could see the gleam in his ice-cold eyes.
The twinkling fairy lights hung above us like stars on the navy sky, and I exhaled.
My eyes dragged themselves down the sharpness of Phil's face and I realized with a spark that I was in love.
He was staring outside the window at the glimmering moon, his hands fidgeting with the edge of his cup of cinnamon-vanilla tea.
And then, in the intensity of a finite second, my mouth coiled into a simper and I lay my head on his frozen shoulder.
We stayed like that for some time, exchanging a plethora of looks and bundles of smiles.
The night dwindled into the morning and, with us still petrified in the same position, I was happy.
