It was a beautiful chilly fall morning as me and Brendon walked down to get some lattes and scones from a cute little coffee shop on the corner of the street. Brendon and I held hands hands while we walked down the sidewalk, our legs moving in unison. The savory aroma of coffee soon wafted down from the street corner and flooded my nostrils. I let my mind wander. I was thinking about the cozy loveseat me and Brendon always sit on while we enjoy our lattes. I wasn't paying attention, I relied solely on Brendon leading me. I walked along until I felt my self trip. I snapped back into reality and instinctively put my arm out to catch myself. CRACK! an acute pain shot up my arm. A cry of agony escaped my throat. Brendon immediately rushed down to help me.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?!" In an instant Brendon whipped out his phone.
"Hello? 911?! I think my girlfriend just broke her wrist! Send help ASAP! We're at-" I picked up my wrist and saw that it was bent backwards . I felt dizzy and it all went black.
I woke up heavy-eyed, and groggy in a hospital bed with Brendon anxiously waiting by my side ."What happened?" I asked, slightly dazed. "I was giving our location to 911 then I saw you look your wrist and pass out.
"While you got x-rayed and casted, I brought you a latte and a scone." Brendon handed me a latte that smelled like heaven and a delicious looking scone. "Thanks, babe." I said gratefully as I gave Brendon a kiss on the cheek. I sloppily scarfed everything down. The food tasted amazing. Eating was the best thing that happened to me today. "You can go home tonight at 8. The doctors want to keep you here a few hours to make sure you don't pass out again." Brendon said with a cheerless frown. "On the bright side I got some gifts for you from the drugstore when I got your pain meds."
Brendon kept my entertained for a few hours till I got discharged from the hospital.
My arm hurt beyond belief. Brendon slowly walked me to our car. The night air nipped painfully at me. We picked up our pace to the car so we could be warm. Brendon, being the mother hen that he is opened the door for me and buckled my seatbelt for me. He slid into the driver seat and carefully drove us home. We ended up getting home at 8:45. Brendon unbuckled me and opened the car and front door to the house for me. We walked into our house and got settled in. We watched a few episodes of "Full House".
Brendon gingerly picked me up and carried me to bed. He helped me get into my PJ's. We drifted into bed. I nestled up to Brendon. "I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have you." I said sleepily. Brendon started singing to me. His soft reassuring voice helped to melt away my pain and problems. Before I knew it, I had drifted off into a deep relaxing sleep.
