Kanye's in my Swamp

Dan's heart raced as he was making the most important decision in his life. There was so much tension that Dan was too afraid to speak, in fear of it breaking. He had loved people before but never like this, never more than one at once. And they loved him back. But now he had to choose one, and it was tearing him apart.

He invited the both of them over and they were staring at him in anticipation, waiting for the answer to leave his lips. He could see the resentment between the two as they shot annoyed glares at each other. Daniel heaved a sigh as he looked at the two people he loved most, and would give anything not to choose. For his own selfish needs, he wanted both of them, but he couldn't keep hurting them like that.

"I've been delaying this for a while now, but the time has come for me to choose. Just, say why I should pick you first. I need to think about it." Dan admitted, asking them each to convince him to stay with them. He hung his head low because he could not build up the courage to look them in the eye.

"You want a reason?" A deep voice called out dryly. "I am the number one human being... That means any person that's living or breathing is number two." The man emerged from the shadows as he spoke. There, Kanye West stood several feet away from Dan. Dan could sense his anger and love surged for Kanye. To his surprise, Dan saw his eyes begin to water. He turned away, he could not bear seeing Kanye like this.

"And what do you have to say?" Dan croaked, facing the second person.

"Me whole life I've been telling people to get out of me swamp, but for you it was different. All I want is for you to share me swamp." Shrek's voice echoed, hollow and heavy at the same time as Dan had expected. It was time for Dan to choose who he wanted. His heart ached for the both of them and he wanted to leave but his morals told him otherwise.

"Bro I don't got time for this! Who you gonna choose?" Kanye demanded impatiently. A tear streamed from Dan's eye as he opened his mouth to speak.

"I choose..." He began, nearly choking out a sob. Shrek and Kanye stood in anticipation, their nervous energy prominent in the room.

"I'm so sorry, Kanye. I pick Shrek." The second the words left his mouth Shrek ran towards Dan to embrace him and Kanye collapsed on the floor in a fit of crying.

"But I thought- I thought Kanye West was the Kanye best." He croaked between sobs.

"You are, it's just that..." Dan looked up at Shrek lovingly. "Shrek is love Shrek is life."
