I walked into my apartment around 3 in the morning. I could hear the light hum from the fridge as I walked into the kitchen. The 3rd night in a row. I can't believe it. If I keep this up, I might as well just die. I thought to myself. My boss has been overworking me because the company needs to turn in the final reports by the end of the week and I can't fuck up now or else I'm done. I heard someone walking into the kitchen.
"Baby, Come to bed. I'm cold." a sweet, child like voice called out.
"Did I wake you?" I asked worried. My husband has been working extra hard compared to me. He's been working months on end on his new movie he's directing and starring in.
"No, well, yes. It's okay though. Now off to bed."
"Darling," I retorted trying not to yawn. "I have to finish this report then I'll join you." I grabbed my cup of water and started to walk to the office.
"Fine. If you aren't done by 3:30 I'm going to get the big guns." he smiled. He walked back into the bedroom and shut the door.
I walked into the office and started to work. My eyes started to droop as I typed the last paragraph. "Almost done." I smiled and yawned. As I typed my eyelids felt heavier and heavier til I fell asleep.
---
I woke up in a warm cozy bed. Next to me was my wonderful, sleepy husband. I try to get out but his strong arms held me tightly in my spot.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked childishly. "You're staying home today." he kissed me on the temple and laid back down.
"As much as I want to I can't. I have to go," I started determined.
"No. I already called in for you. Stay at home, just for today." he smiled and pecked your temple. "I haven't seen you in a long time doing my stuff. I won't be here by the time you finish that paper."
"Okay." I cuddled next to him. I felt a tear fall. "Sorry, darling."
"It's okay. I missed you." we slipped back into bed and held on to each other.
