Chapter 1: That fatefull nightThe sky was bloodshot and it seemed that smoke was rising from the four corners of the world.
The sickening smell of burning flesh was filling the air as mountains of red corpses were scattered around the battlefield.
In the middle of this massacre, only a few were keeping ground to the giant monster swishing his nine tails around, smashing them on the ground.
The beast was howling like a madman and his eyes were a crazed and disgusting yellowish green, almost as if it was hypnotized.
The beast slashed his claws all over place without having a precise target in mind.
As he swiped his claw one more time, a bloodcurdling scream erupted from somebody's throat.
The giant fox froze as the voice shook his every bone, to the tip of his claws and the edge of the tails.
In a blink of a moment, the fox snapped out of his daze, searching for the source of the voice.
His eyes widened as he realised who screamed, even though he prayed to be wrong, he prayed that his eyes were playing pranks on him...but it was true.
On the bloodied ground, a man was breathing heavily. His chest held slash marks and his eyes were about to close. His once shiny blonde hair was messy and full of blood and his cobalt blue eyes were blurry.
The fox whined painfully as he lowered his head and calmed down his tails. Everything seemed silent for a moment...until the man spoke.
"Ku...ra...ma..." He managed to breath out.
'My lord! My lord! Wake up! Don't close you eyes!" The fox pleaded, as it came out only as a low growl.
"Kurama...come he--*cough* *cough* --re."
The fox came closer and put the tip of his nose on the man's forehead.
"Your Highness... please don't... I beg of you...don't die...If you die..."
"Kurama. Please listen."
"It's my fault...if i didn't want to break free from the mistress this wouldn't have happened... My lord... I'm sorry..."
"Kurama."
The fox rised his head.
"I have a mission for you."
The man that was once the Yondaime Hokage was almost lifeless. He was no longer a hero loved by his people...he was just a man pleading for help.
The once enraged and feared nine tailed beast was now bowing it's head down, asking for forgiveness.
"Anything for you my lord."
"Tonight...*takes deep raspy breath* my wife Kushi--*cough*-na gave birth."
"The mistress...a heir?"
"Yes Kurama. I want you to take him."
"What? You entrust the young lord to...me? Of all...why me? Why not one of your students?"
"Please...Kurama this is my decision... please...you don't have...much... time left."
The fox seemed to prepare to say something again but he was cut short as a young ninja with spikey grayish white hair went towards him.
Taking one last glance at his lord, Kurama took off towards the Uzumaki-Namikaze estate.
As he reached the door, he quickly made his way inside in his human form.
He opened one of the doors on one side of the corridor and gasped when he saw the mistress.
Kushina was white as a sheet of paper and her lips were dry.
In her arms she held a small bundle. Inside, a boy lay wide eyed. His sea-blue eyes were sparkling and his messy blond hair was shining.
Kurama took a look at the boy and froze. The three hours old was looking intently at him.
The boy rised his hand and Kurama felt atracted towards him. The boy caught Kurama's finger in his hand.
He carefully watched Kurama's skin and with his small chubby finger he started carresing it.
The boy smiled at the human fox and leaned his head down on his big and warm hand.
"Beautiful...isn't he?" Kushina said in a weak voice.
"Yes indeed mistress. The young lord sure is special."
"And he is powerful. More than you could imagine Kurama."
The fox looked at his mistress and gasped. Her eyes were closing. He had to take the boy.
"What is his name?"
Kushina looked one more time at her baby as she handed him to Kurama.
"Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze." She managed to breeath out as the fox slipped away through the window.
Little did the fox knew that a silver haired shinobi saw a figure running out the window with his sensei's son, someone he vowed to protect.
Kurama ran and ran for a long time, getting as far as he could from the battlefield. After what it seemed like and eternity, he reached a carriage.
He put the baby in front of the door and knocked loudly. He then pulled out a scroll and opened it. He looked at the beautiful seal drawn on the scrool and drew a similar one on the boy's tummy. He then pushed his own chakra into the scrool.
He felt a sickening feeling in his stomach and felt as if he was beeing pulled by an unknown force into the small boy in front of him.
When he dissapeared, the door opened. The man in the doorframe was tall and had a small white beard. He wore casual clothes and he had a small frown plastered on his face.
He noticed the small boy on his doorstep. The boy had cobalt blue eyes and shiny golden hair. Three whisker mark were on each of his cheeks.
The man smiled and lifted the baby. This little one would be and amazing addition to his troupe.
