Chapter 9:sleep over begins and natsumi close call

After Richard had given permission and the parade had ended they went to the guild hall.

"I want to come with you!" Said Lector to Sting. Sting patted on Lector's head. "I wouldn't go without you."

"Fro wants to come too!"

"If Frosch comes, then I'll come as well." Said Rogue.

"Let's ask Luce as well!" Cheered Natsumi. And she ran towards her team. She stood in front of Lucy. "Lucy! Come to my sleepover!"

"That sounds nice. I'll join you as well." Said Erza.

"If everyone goes I might as well too." Said Gray. And hiding behind a pillar was Juvia who already planned to come as well to make sure Gray doesn't spent any time with one of the love rivals.

Richard had no idea what to do with this. He wasn't bothered by the number of people staying over. No, not at all, he liked company.
But what did bothered him was that there were boys. One was even in his underwear!

Alright, Natsumi is 5 and those men were around 20, but that didn't mean Richard approved! They're setting a bad example for his princess! What if she picks up on the stripping habit? Or becomes all gloomy and shadowy like the Sabretooth guy.

And now he thought about it the girls weren't any different. One was eating cake every day and would use violence, the other tried to smooch the stripping snowman. The only girls he sort off approved were Lucy and Yukino as role models.

He looked at the bunch of people in his living room. He made the girls sleep in Natsumi's room and the guys had to stay in the living room. And after having to send Juvia back for the millionth time after she tried to do whatever with Gray. He decided to just go to sleep.

In Natsumi's room:

The girls were chatting while Natsumi was thinking. She still couldn't place what she had forgotten.

She looked at Yukino who was patting Happy. It was cute, Happy was just lying there in her arms. Just like a little baby.

"That's it!" Natsumi exclaimed happily. And she immediately turned to Lucy. "Luce! Do you know how people get babies?"

Lucy's face went red, she stuttered a bit but managed to talk eventually. "I-I'm n-not really s-sure to t-t-tell you now."

"But I want to know." Natsumi pouted

Lucy gulped. "W-well, ehm.... When a mommy and daddy love each other very much, they ehm... do something special and ehm.... The mommy's tummy will grow and then... eh...."

Natsumi already knew the last part, she even still remembers it. "What's the special thing?"

"You're still too young for that, but give it time and in a few years you'll be told." Yukino tried to say as convincing as possible.

Natsumi sighed, she'll have to wait. She hated waiting, it was so boring. But at least she knew what she had forgotten.

6 years old. It's winter.

Natsumi stood at the frozen pool. She wanted to go ice-skating but everyone had told her to wait until Gray was back to make sure it was completely frozen and safe.

Natsumi didn't understand. It looked totally frozen! No need to wait. And they told her not to go ice-skating yet, but they didn't say a thing about walking on the ice.

She placed on foot on the ice, then the other. Nothing is wrong so far so she started to walk on the ice.

Natsumi froze, that wasn't good. She panicked and started slowly walking back.

She got scared and her magic started to act up without her knowing it.

Her body heat was rising and before she could take another step or even let a sound come from her throat, the ice caved in and she got sucked into the water.

She couldn't breathe. She tried to swim but her heavy winter clothing pulled her further down. This couldn't be happening, she wasn't ready to die again!

Her lungs were burning and she was staring to get weaker, but just before the blackness could overtake she saw a hand enter the water and taking hold of her.

He held his little sister close to his chest. She was still breathing, he had almost lost her again, for the third time.

She was unconscious in his arms. It was so much like the first time, her face was resting and her body felt cold and was limp. But this time she was still breathing.

Relief washed over him. This time he was there to save her, he wasn't too young and weak like the first time, or hidden away like the second.

This time, Natsu had gotten a third chance in life. And Zeref had gotten a third chance to protect his sibling. He wasn't going to fail this time, he'd made sure of that. He'll be watching every single move and protect her from any harm.

He heard the doors of the guild opening, so he lay Natsumi down in the snow and hid himself again. He sawLisanna running towards Natsumi, picking her up and carrying her in and yelled help everyone stop what they was doing to help laxus grabbed blankets, gray grabbed a torch that was on fire and lucy summoned Scorpio to monitor her health about a hour later natsumi was awake and her parents was by her side at guilds Infirmary
