"Oh!" Brennan said as a rush of pain surged from her pelvis upwards. She gripped the side of the passengers seat tightly with her teeth clenched.

"What? What is it? Bones!" Booth asked looking at her a few times as he drove back from an interview with a suspect. Worry, concern and excitement all showed in his mixed expression. "Is the baby coming?" He added, his heart rate rose immensely. Brennan looked at him and shook her head.

"It's just the vaginal fluid being expelled by the body to prepare for birth." She explained as another surge of pain came. Suddenly, her trousers were soaked.

"Your water broke?" Booth translated and Brennan nodded.

"That's what I said."

"Okay we need to get you to the hospital Bones." And with that said, Booth reached up switching the sirens on as he sped up down the deserted road.

"Booth there's no time. Turn left here!" Brennan exclaimed, grabbing the wheel and spinning it round to the left. The car did a sudden left turn down a lane.

"BONES!" Booth shouted as he gained control of the wheel again. Brennan groaned in pain.

"BOOTH!" She yelled as the contractions grew. Booth arrived at a B'n'B. He stopped the car and ran out towards the entrance. There was a man standing outside who seemed to be welcoming guests. Running up to him, Booth asked

"I need a room, my girlfriend is about to have a baby." With regret, the man shook his head.

"I'm sorry sir but there are no more rooms." Apologised the man sadly. Booth frowned and sighed as he turned and quickly got back in the car. Brennan groaned more and more as the contractions became more frequent and closer. Booth was panicking by now. He drove away from the Bed and Breakfast heading back onto the road when Brennan yelled in agony. Booth suddenly noticed a barn not far from the B'n'B.

"The nearest hospital is 20 minutes away. Look there's a barn just there. We'll use that." He assured her turning the car into the yard. As soon as he parked it, Booth rushed out and grabbed Brennan. Kicking the barn door open, Booth hurried inside past the two sheep, pony mare and a goat and her kid. He knelt down and laid Brennan on the hay bails. Brennan cringed with agony as she felt the baby forcing its way out. She leaned back and pushed with all her might, letting out a cry.

"That's it Bones keep pushing. Nearly there." Booth soothed, kneeling in front of her. He was the only one there who could help her and he would do anything for Temperance; he loved her, always had since the day they met. He kept an eye on Brennan's expression and with several more groans and pushes, Booth finally spotted what looked like a head appearing. He positioned his hands underneath so that when the baby came, he could catch it. It wasn't until a few seconds later that he realized, he would need something to cover the baby. So sacrificing his grandfathers jacket, Booth slipped it off and readied himself for the birth of his daughter.

All in all, this day just seemed really odd. They were in a barn while Brennan was giving birth. Now that had to be a sign of some sort, at least in Booth's eyes. Brennan cried again with more painful pushes; soon a head and arms were showing. With this beautiful baby's image plastered in Booth's mind, a smile spread across his rounded face. He could see that Brennan was beginning to get tired from this so he gently rubbed her leg.

"Just a few more pushes." He told her softly as the full baby was now emerging. Cupping his new daughter in his arms, Booth lifted her up - being careful not to tug on the umbilical cord - to the light and looked at her. The baby cried, her eyes closed and bare mouth wide open. Blood covered the newborns delicate skin. Booth then wrapped his jacket round her and cradled the baby. He reached into his trouser pocket, pulling put some small army scissors. Then, he carefully severed the cord and clamped it with some strong hay. Booth lay next to his partner with their new daughter in his arms.

"Look, its over. Here she is." He said smiling warmly, handing her the baby. Brennan's breathing slowed, she turned to take a look at the cause of all her pain. Tears started trickling down her cheeks as the sight of their daughter truly was a heavenly sight. Booth smiled with joy. He watched his new family, his pride and joy. Just then, Brennan let out another cry of pain. Booth was confused as he had no idea what had happened. He took the baby from Brennan and gently placed it in an small, old, wooden food trough that was next to them. After, Booth made his way in front of his partner and blinked as yet another head - smaller this time - made it's way into the world. A happy and confused smile sat on the FBI agent's face.

With a few more cries of pain and pushes, the second baby had arrived. Booth looked at Brennan to see how she was doing before taking of his shirt - it would be stained from the blood but was definitely worth it - and wrapped it round the crying bloody baby girl. Girl? He thought with utter surprise. It was a surprise enough that he had a daughter but to have another daughter? Twins in fact; Booth was over the moon. Doing the same thing to this daughters umbilical cord as he had with the first, Booth gave her to Brennan while he picked up and cradled the first.

"Booth?" Brennan breathed quietly. The twins gradually fell asleep in their parents arms. Booth turned his full attention towards Brennan.

"Yes Bones?" He replied with a content expression. Nothing could make him happier than he already was just laying here with his girlfriend and two daughters. Brennan smiled as best as she could.

"I love you."

At the house, everyone was crowding round the sleeping twin sisters. Angela, Hodgins, Cam, Sweets and even the federal prosecutor Caroline was there although of course Caroline wasn't acting all googly eyes like Cam and Angela were. She was happy yes, happy that Booth and Brennan were finally together after almost eight years of denying what they had. However, Caroline knew that it would never have happened if Dr. Brennan had never have been pregnant. Booth and Brennan stood back letting their friends see their daughters. Booth looked down smiling at Brennan who returned the same warm smile. He had his arm round her and kissed her cheek lovingly.

"Have you thought of names?" Angela asked curiously. Hoggins turned to face the new parents with an arm round Angela. Booth and Brennan looked at each other for a moment. Several minutes went by and when they looked back at Angela, they saw that now the others had turned round. Brennan blinked and gave a small smile before looked at Booth. He nodded giving her the opening to tell the others their daughters names.

"Christine Angela and Elizabeth Rose." She announced happily, looking at Angela who had begun to tear up. Brennan advanced towards her friend and hugged her. Angela returned the hug.

"Thank you." She whispered in Brennan's ear so that no one else could hear. "And they are both beautiful names." Angela added stepping back and whipping the few tears from her cheeks. Brennan nodded as she felt Booth's arm coming back round her. She leaned into him gently and watched her daughters.
