Chapter 2

The Visit

☪ Carrie Evergreen ☪

"You gonna tell me, or no?" I said through the mic of my headset. After meeting Sam, I dashed to my computer to make sure Max wasn't calling me. Unfortunately, he had called me 5 times while I was with Sam.

I was trying to get the name of the video game through his mouth. "Uh, yeah. Its called League of Legends." I snickered to myself. What a pathetic name. That's kinda corny for a title. Nevertheless, I typed it into the web.

A website came up and I stared curiously. "It looks cool," I frowned. For an interesting game, why such a dopey title? Maybe the creators are just as nerdy as us.

I downloaded the game as I read the instructions on how to play. "Alright!" Max said, breaking the silence. "What should my summoners name be?"

I shrugged. "Whatever is suitable for you." He sighed while tapping his finger against the desk. "Hmm. Maybe Kygori?" I nodded my head. "That's a cool name." I heard the keys of his keyboard pound while he typed it in.

"What about you?" He asked me.

I smirked. "My usual."

He sighed. "Why? You always choose that username. What's so special about it?"

"I dunno."

* * *

"HUH?!" I screamed. I could almost feel Max flinch. "What's up, Carrie?"

I was utterly shocked. "IT'S-IT'S TAKEN?!" For the nth time, Max sighed.

"What's taken?"

"MY USERNAME!"

"Oh..."

Anger boiled up inside of me. "WHO EVER TOOK IT IS GONNA PAY!" Grumbling, I typed in Faker II. Yes, my original username is Faker. So what? It's not feminine, I know. Plus, it's a negative word, but I still think it's cool.

I crossed my arms as I pouted. "Ugh."

"Carrie!" I heard my mother call. Why was she calling me down? It wasn't even dinner yet!

"Wait please!" I yelled back as League of Legends loaded up. I was tightening my fists in anticipation. "Uh, Carrie? You may wanna go."

"And why?"

"Because your mom's called you 3 times now."

"Oh..."

But before I could do anything, my door was opened.

Eventually, mom and dad came home. As they said in the car, they were excited to visit the neighbors. In our old home, my mom was great friends with the neighbors across the street. In this house, the person across the street was Carrie's house. Excitement grew inside my stomach. I couldn't wait to see her again.

Maybe she'll be wearing a pretty dress. Or a super short - what am I saying? I scowled at myself. Since when have I been excited to see a girl?

My mom had bought some cookies for the visits. Unfortunately, mom has wanted to save the one across the street for last, since she "felt" something amazing would happen. Mothers, right?

The people around us were decent people. They were mostly a bit confused why we would come around and say hello, but nonetheless amazing people. They weren't extremely rude as expected.

Finally, the time had come to visit Carrie's house. I still hadn't told mom or dad that I had already met their extremely hot daughter.

Mom knocked on their door excitedly. I have to admit, I was a bit excited as well. Maybe knowing her parents now will make it easier for them to like me.
