Hurricane Sandy just came threw my little town in New Jersey and I can't find my teenage daughter, I've looked everywhere and no one has seen her. I called all my neighbors and asked to look for her in what used to be there houses'. They all agreed and started a prayer chain. I went down to the old boardwalk, the big roller coaster was in the ocean and ride cars a mile down the beach.
I screamed her name and I heard a cry for help but it wasn't her. I ran down to the ocean and looked down the shore, I saw a girl floating upside down. I ran threw the water as fast as I could till the floating girl was in my arms. I flipped her and I couldn't believe my eyes. I rubbed them, looked again, and started to yell and cry.
The EMS came to be sure she was dead, put her in a body bag and took me to the hospital to get stitches in my forehead. After I waited for 14 draining hours I finally got called back into the ER. They did a fast job and threw me out as fast as they could to keep the people from yelling and getting upset.
About a week later we had a funeral, I lost it a couple times but I knew she was walking the golden roads. She was healthy and wasn't in pain anymore. I learned an important lesson that day. To not take people and things that are important for granite.
