Chapter Thirty-Nine.

“I love you! I love you! I love you!” I pounced on Ryan grinning. Mini golf was one of my favourite games. Ryan grabbed me spinning me around. I squealed as I kicked my legs around like a maniac. He pulled me to a stop and held me to his chest. I blushed but was so excited I didn’t even care.

“Elle calm down.” He whispered and I quickly embraced his arms hugging him tightly.

“I’m sorry, but you know how much I love Mini golf!” I grinned hugging with all my strength.

“How can I play mini golf with you if you’re going to kill me with your death hugs.” He grinned and I pulled back to look at him with my pouty face.

“I’m not that deadly.” I said with a grin growing on my lips.

“Nah, you’re not deadly, but your hugs are.” He smirked and I smiled back, I looked down too see his arms still wrapped tightly around my petite waist. I coughed lowly, a Raspberry blush surfacing to my plump cheeks.

“Oh yeah, let’s go get our tickets and golf gear.” He said bluntly hesitantly moving his arms from my waist. Once removed I felt my waist go cold and I frowned slightly but rushed after Ryan who was jogging over to the entrance.

“Wait there a sec, while I go get the putters and golf ball.” Ryan said once we got at the entrance. I nodded silently and watching Ryan jog into the building. I couldn’t help my eyes trail over his behind as he jogged. What a good looking butt. I smiled at myself, then slapped my cheek scowling at myself. God he’s your best friend! You have a boyfriend. I frowned until I heard a familiar voice and I forced smile.

“Elle! What are you doing there?” my fake smile changed into a genuine smile as Sabrina came into my vision.

“Ryan and me are mini golfing!” I exclaimed as she jogged over wearing her converse shoes, with tatty shorts and a loose shirt with the word ‘USA’ written on it. I grinned at her sense of style and she returned the grin as she became parallel with me.

“Aw lucky duck! I’ve just finished having lunch with my grandma and family across the road at little chef. You do not know what it’s like for grandma to constantly ask about the same thing every two minutes literally. Although it’s not her fault. It’s sad yet annoying.” She sighed and I smile reassuringly.

“Told granny about Derek?” I asked raising an eye brow, she blushed and shook her head.

“Don’t be so soft, I know you should invite Derek to a dinner with your family.” I suggested with a grin. She frowned and shook her head again.

“Firstly I have no way gone soft! And secondly Derek would freak out, family dinner is a big step in a relationship.” she admitted and I nodded, she was probably right.

“How are you and Derek going anyways?” I asked quickly only to see her give a cheeky grin.

“Got the golf gear!” I heard a voice exclaim behind me. I turned around to see Ryan jogging over to us.

“See you Elle.” Sabrina said politely as she skipped off to her car, with her family members chatting to each other.

“Ready?” I asked Ryan as he smiled as he lead me to the first track in the course.

“Hate to break it too you, but I’m going to whoop your ass.” Ryan said smugly and I slapped his forearm, fake gasping. I narrowed my eyes and grinned devilishly at Ryan who looked slightly scared. With only made me laugh.

“In your dreams babe.” I replied rashly as I grabbed the putter and plopped the golf ball onto the start of the artificial grass.

“Sure you don’t want any help.” Ryan asked and I scoffed a laugh.

“Don’t worry I’m a tad more capable then Sarah.” I replied with a laugh as I positioned my feet slightly apart, knees bend and arms slightly loose. My dad had taken me to golf with him over the summer holiday, but Ryan didn’t know that. I smiled at myself as I gently hit the ball my aim going in the perfect direction. I jumped repeatedly up and down in joy.

“Hole in one! Beat that BABE!” I cheered as I pointed my finger at Ryan who looked slightly gobsmacked and pale. Which only made me laugh harder. “Your face is priceless!” I huffed as I clench my stomach from my laughing fits.

“Lucky shot.” He muttered under his breath and I clasped my hand over my mouth to stop my laughter from spilling out my lips. I stepped aside for Ryan to line up his ball. Just as he began swung down for his putter to meet the golf ball, I released my laughter immediately making him skip in the wrong direction. He groaned in frustration and I immediately calm down, looking down at the floor as I bit my lip.

“Sorry.” I whispered as Ryan stepped closer to me.

“Sorry won’t cut it this time. . .Babe.” he muttered as I felt two hands slip around my waist pulling me closer to him.

“W-what are you doing?” I stammered as I met his playful eyes. He grinned and I narrowed my eyes at him.

“This.” He said quickly as two huge lunged me over his shoulder. I squealed in delight and fear but otherwise enjoyed the ride. That was until one of his hands tickled my stomach and I squirmed around laughing louder.

“S-STOP! RYAN!” I laughed out with huffed breaths. He only tickled me more. I laughed uncontrollably as I began to pull his hair and kick my legs playfully.

“Ryan!” I whined a grin still settling on my lips. I screamed as I fell down the non-artificial grass with Ryan towards the river.  I screamed again until we came to a stop just at the end of the river bank.

“Oh thank god.” I breathed out looking out at how close we were to the water. I looked up at Ryan to notice he was on top of me pinning me down.

“Yes your knight saved you again.” He said smugly and I giggled.

“Yeah right.” I whispered taking into account on how close Ryan actually was, close enough to touch noses, even to kiss. I gulped down the thought as I met his shining eyes. I almost gasped at the sight of them, they never seemed to get dull, almost always that same brilliant colour. I kept my face expressionless in shock as I watched Ryan genuinely grin from on top of me. And just when I opened my mouth to protest his perfectly soft lips found mine.
