Chapter 15- EDITED
Cherokee Rose : S2 E4
Part : 2

I sat next to Carl, waiting for him to wakeup again. I was still sad, and hurt, but it was his parents. People he spent 12 years of his life with.
I got up and went to our little campsite.
"I'll go saddle your horse than." Maggie told Glenn and walked around him to the staples.
Glenn waited a few seconds before looking at Dale. "Horse?"
I giggled and nodded, "Horse." [maybe Horse will be Glaggie's always.]
I followed Maggie to the stables and entered. "Can I help?"
"Sure." She smiled and put the saddle on Nelly.
I had a hard time, but managed to put the saddle on Troy [it doesn't specify the real name.].
"When are you leaving?" I asked.
"Either tomorrow or later on today."
I looked past the stalls to the field and saw Dale and T-Dog walking somewhere and decided to see where. "I'll see you later, Maggie!" I smiled before starting to walk towards them.
"T-DOOOG! DAAALE!" I yelled as I started fast walk over where they are, keeping my breath steady. "Can I come with you?"
"Sure. Goin' to the wells." T-Dog informed me as we walked through the field.
"Good. I'm so thirsty!"
-
"I'm not weak. And I'm not a coward." T-Dog said with a sigh.
"Who said that?" I asked, helping pump the water with a grunt.
"I sure didn't." Hershel chuckled.
"From the....y'know. I don't know what that was or where it came from. That wasn't me."
Am I missing something?
"What? I couldn't get a word out you all day!"
I looked at the two strangely as I closed the cap of a container.
"Do you think there's a snowball's chance that we'll find that girl?" T. asked.
"For the first time in my life I'm betting on the snowball."
"We will. We have to." I said sternly.
"Yeah, I think so too." T said. "Do your part, don't complain.
I wiped sweat off my forehead as I watched Dale walk ahead. "Somethin' wrong?" I asked. Dale looked in the well and had a look of disgust on his face, and made his way back.
T-Dog took a scoop of water and just as he was about to drink it Dale hit the scoop [shame on me, i dont remember what those things were called. Let's call it a scoop.] down. "I wouldn't drink that if I were you." He said and T-Dog got hit like a bus on realization.
"What is it?" I asked, walking to the edge, and staring down. My eyes widened, the smell hitting me. I gagged, putting my hand over my mouth, but pulling it away as vomit came. I quickly pulled back, put my hands on my knees as I emptied my stomach on the grass. I looked at the two, a shiver running up my spine.
-
Andrea, Maggie, Glenn, Lori and Shane made their way over to us, as T-Dog escorted them.
They looked in the well, and I saw Lori staring at the puddle of my vomit. "The smell got me. Never seen a thing like that either." I muttered.
"Looks like we got ourselves a swimmer." Dale said shining his flashlight at the...thing.
-
"How long do you think it's been down there?" Glenn asked.
"Long enough to grow gills." Andrea answered.
"We can't leave it in there, God knows what it's doing to the water." Lori said.
"It probably infected the water. Like I said before, it spreads on everything." I muttered.
"Then we got to get it out." Shane said clearly, putting a hand on his hip and pinching the bridge of his nose with the other.
"Easy. Put a bullet in it's head." T-Dog said. "I'll get a rope."
"Woah, woah, guys. No." Maggie said.
"Why not? It's a good plan." Glenn shrugged.
"It's a stupid plan. If that thing hasn't contaminated the water, yet, blowing its brains out will finish the job." Andrea said.
"The water is already infected. Any blood or saliva or anything of that sort touches the water, bam. Infected." I muttered looking at everyone.
"There's still a chance though." Andrea reasoned.
"So it has to come out alive?" T-Dog asked.
Shane answered, "So to speak."
"How do we do that?" Glenn asked.
-
I watched as the ham went right in front of the fat walker. It payed no attention, what so ever.
"He's not going for it." Dale said.
Shane, who was lowering the ham, replied, "Maybe 'cause a canned ham don't kick and scream."
"He's right. There's a reason the dead didn't come back to life, and start raiding our cupboards." Lori said.
"We need live bait." Andrea said and I felt everyone's attention turn to another place. I looked up and saw they were all looking at Glenn.
Oh no.
