We were playing for awhile, midnight came faster than I thought it would.
"Time to go," Midnight whispered.
"But I'm playing zombies,"
"Come on, we can't miss out on meeting everyone," She said while dragging my coat from my box with her teeth.
"But, zombies,"
"Game can wait, this is more important,"
"Adara, who are you talking to?" Sasha asked.
"Nobody, I talk to myself often,"
"Why talk to yourself when you can talk to everyone!"
"Eh,"
"Come on, we're going to be late." Midnight said.
"It's cold outside, I'm not going anywhere." My eyes were still looking at the screen so I thought she finally gave up. Though my ears picked up creaking, like someone heavy coming up the stairs. "Hey cover me for a second." I took my headset off, then looked down the stairs. It was pitch black down stairs and only saw another pair of eyes staring right at me. "Nope!" I ran back into my room and closed my door. I slid under my bed.
"Adara?" I heard outside my door. Midnight opened the door was paired with Tyler.
"You can't be scaring people like that," I said.
"I thought you knew I was coming?"
"No, you could at least text me. How did you get in anyways?" I asked.
"Midnight,"
"How do you open doorknobs, with paws?"
"Practice and a lot of jumping," She answered.
"Aren't you coming?" Tyler asked.
"No, it's cold and I don't know anyone there,"
"But it's movie night," Tyler whined.
"What movie are you watching?" Hate my curiosity.
"Pacific Rim." Love that movie, now I want to go.
"But I still don't know anyone,"
"That's why you're meeting them." Midnight said, her ears flickered. "Tyler in the closet!" She whispered loudly. He jumped in the closet, I put on my headset. Midnight curled up on my bed and we all acted like nothing happened. Mom came in my room.
"Why are you still awake?" She asked.
"I'm doing an all night play with my friends," I said without looking away from the screen.
"Well turn the sound down I can hear your friends from my room," she said and closed my door.
"That was close," Midnight said.
"Mind telling us what's going on?" Sasha asked.
"I gotta go but I'll be back. Keep the game warm." I said. Then exited the game and shut off the console. I threw on my coat, boots, and hat.
"Really? The movie is why you're coming?" Midnight asked.
"I love that movie. It's like top three on my favorites,"
"Well then let's go," Tyler said. Midnight ran down the stairs while Tyler and I stood at the top of the stairs.
"What are you waiting for?" Midnight asked at the bottom of the stairs.
"Cats don't make noise on the stairs. People make nothing but noise on the stairs," I said.
"I barely made it up the stairs making all the creaking," Tyler said.
