Nico took a deep breath, leaning heavily against the bathroom counter. He mentally cursed at himself for making noise, for even leaving the bed. A shuffling noise from outside told him that, no matter how hard he had tried not to, he had drawn the attention of a certain blond doctor. The son of Hades ducked his head, biting his lip to muffle a sob. The door creaked open, and there stood the one person he allowed to see him like this. Will Solace wrapped strong arms around him and he felt safe, so very safe and so very warm and it became so much easier to push the horrid dreams out of his head. They weren't dreams, not anymore. They were memories. Constantly popping up to remind him that he couldn't escape the past. That he was so very broken and so very alone and so very dead inside. He was, truly, an empty husk to hold a dead heart. But Will didn't care... Will held him and let him wallow in his own deadness.
Will didn't think that Nico was dead. No matter how many times the small, lonely boy said that he was beyond help. Will was a doctor, he fixed people, maybe Nico just needed a little more fixing. Will gently pulled the younger into his arms, against his chest, shushing him gently as the other tried to object. He scooped the broken boy up, carrying him to the bed where the two curled up together. Will didn't talk, neither did Nico. They laid still, Will's breathing effectively calming Nico down as the pair drifted off to sleep. Nico slept peacefully the rest of the night, and he knew that Will would always be there to push the nightmares away.
