On a hot summer day, many people were outside, tending to their gardens and such. A man and wife were loading up groceries in their white suburban house. A raccoon was perched up in a tree, holding oversized binoculars; RJ.
He sighed as he couldn't see his main targets; the husband and wife. He soon caught sight of them and grabbed his oversized walkie-talkie sitting next to him.
"Humans outside, I repeat. Humans outside!" RJ said into the talkie. Verne got the signal and clicked his tongue, signaling Penny. She pushed the scooter that had a squeak toy under the front wheel, every time the scooter rolled, the toy would squeak. The couple's dog barked and chased it.
"HEY! GET BACK HERE YOU!" The husband growled and chased after him.
"Phase 2!" Penny whispered as she snapped her fingers. Heather was about to dash in, but Ozzie, her father, stopped her.
"Heather, maybe I should handle the distraction."
Heather made a sound of annoyance. "Dad! I'm 19! I can take care of myself!"
Ignoring his daughter's pleads, he marches in, a plan formulating in his mind. The female possum looked at him with wide wide eyes, mouth hanging open. Her shock turned to anger as her teeth and fists clenched.
"Ugh! Dad!" She yelled, annoyed even more, facepalming.
"EEEKKK!" A high pitched scream was heard from upstairs. A whistle from Ozzie was heard, and everyone rushed in the house with the famous red wagon and blue cooler. Once in the kitchen, Heather tossed Lou the food in the fridge, Penny got the cabinets, and the rest had dry and canned food.
"Good job, team!" RJ smiled. They soon heard a horrifying crash, everyone looked at the fridge and saw Heather covered in red jello.
"Whoops." She nervously said.
"HEATHER!" Everyone growled.
"Hey! Don't blame me! Blame Bucky! I swear he has butterfingers!" She argued. Everyone looked at Bucky, who was on top of the fridge.
"Sorry." He whined. Everyone turned to see the front door open.
"We don't have time to clean this up!" Ozzie nervously exclaimed.
"Heather! Be opossum!" RJ said as he rushed everyone out.
"Huh?" She questioned. She soon saw the couple heading her way, but she caught on and slowly dragged her body across the floor, acting like she was on the verge of death.
The woman shrieked, pointing to the faking possum. "Harold! Kill it!"
"No need to tell me twice." He said, grabbing some bug spray. RJ sighed at this.
"RJ, what are you doing?" He asked himself as he rushed in, making some hissing noises. The couple screamed in response, running upstairs. After they ran, he grabbed Heather's paw and ran out.
"Thanks." Heather smiled, trying hard to hide the blush from her cheeks.
"Please, it was on the way." He smiled back, winking at her.
They rushed to the hedge and RJ dove in. However, before Heather went inside, she shook hands for the red jello, making her fur snow white again. She smiled, about to walk in, until she felt something cold and wet take over her body. She squealed and looked up to see RJ holding a bucket. She shook off the water and looked up at him smugly.
"You are so dead!"
"Pfft." RJ scoffed. "What's a kid like you gonna do?"
Heather jumped on top of the hedge, chasing the raccoon. She spotted a branch above the hedge. Smirking, she jumped on it, running above RJ.
RJ was chuckling while running, he stopped to see Heather gone, his smile faded, as he was confused, until two paws wrapped around his blue eyes.
"Guess who~!"
Heather removed her hands so RJ could turn around to face her.
"I win." She smiled cutely at him.
He was about to respond until he heard and felt a twig snap beneath him, he almost fell, if it wasn't for Heather grabbing his paw and holding on with all her strength, that was until the branch she was hanging on snapped, and the two fell in the hedge with various grunts and yelps, landing on the harsh ground with a thud, Heather on top of RJ.
She was groggily sat up on her elbows, shaking her head dazedly. But her eyes widened as she felt her face burn as she realized what position she was in.
RJ mirrored her, making the possum jump off of the raccoon, rubbing her arm as he sat up and cleared his throat.
"Let's go check on the others." He suggested, earning a small nod from the shy possum.
