Hey guys(: I'm sorry I didn't finish up my last story, haha. I guess I wasn't as dedicated as I am now to writing something people will actually want to read. So, this is a story about unexpected love; and surprise. Hope you guys enjoy(: xoxo
Introduction:
I remember when I was thirteen; all I wanted was to get out of this place, get out of this school, this town. All I wanted was to go to Columbia University in New York City. How I longed to be out there on my own, away from everyone in this town. The only people I would miss were my three best friends. Let me tell you about myself first; My name is Charlotte Westwood. People call me Charlie; a nickname I didn't make up, it just caught on in elementary school. At first it bothered me because it made me think of a boy's name. I got used to it, though. I have straight black hair (which I wish was wavy) and green eyes. I also have freckles; but they only come out in the summer with a tan I always try to keep throughout the year. I used to be so cautious when I was younger; I would never go anywhere. By myself, at least. I was horrified by the magazine articles and the newspapers and the news. I was afraid I was going to get snatched up on the sidewalk one day, and never be heard from again. I argued with everyone that it was a very rational fear, because it could actually happen. I proved myself wrong, because I'm still here today. Of course not all the fear left me, I'm still afraid of going in to New York by myself. In a few months when I can live off campus, I will be renting an apartment with my three best friends. I'll go in order from the one's I've known the longest. I've known Miriam since Kindergarten; she was my best friend all through the years. She's been with me through everything, and I mean everything. She has honey blonde hair, gorgeous hair it is. She also has cobalt blue eyes, that i've always envied. She's incredibly smart; she got in to Columbia too! We're going to request to be roommates. She can remember anything; she even remembers in kindergarten that time I stole her stamps from her book bag; something I didn't remember until she mentioned it. She scolds me for remembering the little things, which I think comes in handy. She disagrees. I've known Cassie since fourth grade, which is still a long time. She's the peppy one of the group; the one who can make anyone laugh. She's also a bit boy crazy. She has brown hair, with light blue eyes, lighter than the sky. Which probably explains why she was the first of us to get a boyfriend. She worries me though sometimes; her taste in guys I mean. I can't imagine why she picks the guys she does. She doesn't have a specific taste, which I guess is nice for guys because she's not picky. But she takes not having a taste to an extreme. If it has something dangling between it's legs, she's after it. I was so perplexed by this, even now. Cassie got into NYU, so she'll also be sharing an apartment with us. I've known Dacey since fifth grade, one year after Cassie. Dacey didn't realize just how gorgeous she was, with an amazing fashion sense (she's my shopping buddy!) and flaming curly red hair and light brown eyes. She made other girls jealous, and I wish she could see it. Dacey may be the strongest person I know; she's conquered so much in her life. Her father died of lung cancer, and I couldn't even imagine how she felt. She seemed to be dealing with it well, yet I knew somewhere deep down she was fighting it. That is why she is probably the greatest fighter i'll ever know. She's quirky, which makes her even more relatable to anyone she meets. She got in to Sweet Briar, but will be sharing the apartment with us on vacation. The four of us will always have such great memories, and I'm ready to start all new ones, hopefully with more laughs, more smiles, and more knowledge.
How was it? Anything you liked, didn't like? Let me know(: I should have the first chapter up soon, and I promise to commit this time guys, haha(: Thanks for reading!
xoxo
