Joshua's P.O.V.
My God, this is the longest car ride ever! My gaze flickered from the scenery outside the window to my phone. The window was to see if I can recall any landmarks and know how far we were from our destination. The phone was just to check if anyone had texted me so I can be preoccupied on this torturous drive. So far no one is willing to be my savior and none of these places are familiar enough to let me know our location. Jeez, a lot has changed over three years!
I shifted in my seat uncomfortably due to a certain twin of mine drooling on my shoulder in her sleep. I groaned in disgust and softly pushed her off my shoulder, leaning her against the window on her side of the car. After wiping the drool off my shoulder, and waiting for a red light, I hopped over to the front passanger seat ignoring the whines and protests coming from my older sister driving the car.
Her expectant glare caused me to wonder what she wanted, but it soon clicked, "Oh!" I quickly put on my seat belt, and she smiled in satisfaction, "There. Happy?" she nodded and I rolled my eyes. I leant foward in my seat and flipped through the radio when I landed on one of my favorite songs "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" and I squealed in excitement causing my sister to jump. We both sang along to this song and any other familiar songs afterwards. Laughter filled the car when one of us forgot the lyrics or started too early. Fortunately, this did cause the drive to seem to go by quicker. After what felt like half an hour later we pulled into a familiar house and just from seeing the outside my heart squeezed in my chest and tears threatening to fall. I was about to break down when a gentle hand was placed on my shoulder. I craned my neck around to see my lovely twin giving me a warm, reassuring smile and then turned to my older sister who gave a sad smile between the both of us. Once I regained my steady breathing, I broke the silence in the car, "Lets just go inside. I'm starved!" my sisters giggled and my older sister ruffled my hair, getting herself a glare from me.
"You're always hungry! That hasn't changed." she says. I mock horror and gasp.
"How dare you! Are you calling me fat, Bianca?" I sniffle and she just shakes her head with a smile, walking to the house. Angie, my twin, laughs and jumps out of the car and races towards the door. I then realise that I'm the only by the car, "Hey! Guys! What about the luggage?!" I shouted after them.
Angie pops her head outside of the door and flashes me a giant, cheesy smile, "You can do it! I believe in you!" she laughs and disappears back inside before I can object. I huff in annoyance and open the trunk of the car. My bags were easy enough to carry but Angie's felt like they were filled with dead bodies. I wouldn't be suprised. Not to mention, she brought like four of them! I had two light-weight bags with a fair amount of clothes til we go shopping but she might as well have brought her old room with her. After making two trips full of grunting, struggling, and muttering curses at the two, I finally got all our bags into the house. Being the fact that I got all of them this far, I just left the bags in the living room and joined my sisters in the kitchen who were happily munching on a bowl of popcorn, "See! Told you you can do it." Angie gives me a proud smile.
"Thanks. I really needed the encouragement." I grumbled sarcastically. She waved me off with a ' don't mention it'. I grabbed a kernel and flicked it at her nose causing her to glare at me and Bianca laugh at our childness. I spun on my heels and faced Bianca, "So which room is ours? Do we take our old room?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders
"Well being the fact that this is a three bedroom house, and since Mom and Da-" she stopped when me and Angie both looked down at our feet. She sighed and sent us an apologetic look, "Sorry. But like I was saying theres only three of us, so, you two get your own room." we both gave each other a competitive look and were about to take off, "And, no, I already have my stuff in the master bedroom." we stopped and let out a huff of air while our shoulders dropped in defeat.
