Chapter 25 - Bad News

NATHAN'S P.O.V.

I had just had one of the funniest nights of my life tonight. I got to hang out with my friends and my lovely girlfriend and have a laugh. I was so happy with how Skylar got along with the boys, and I'm hoping her connection with the girlfriends will be just as nice as that.

"Nathan! Jess! Could you come down here please?" Mum called. I hopped off of my bed and followed right behind Jess down the hall and we walked down the stairs.

"Yes mum?" Jess asked.

"I just wanted to inform you two that next weekend we are planning to take a family trip up to our old house in Bradford and visit with the Mulligans!" She cheered so excitedly. Jess and I had the opposite reaction as her.

"No! We can't go this weekend! Prom's this weekend mum, and Cole has already asked me to go with him!" She cried. That's not all that's so terrible about this trip though. You see, the Mulligans have one child; a daughter. Her name is Chelsea Mulligan and she's about the same age as I am now, maybe as young as Skylar. A couple years ago in the summer my family went up to their cozy cottage in Bradford for three months and Chelsea and I managed to date and break all in those three months. She became very clingy and would constantly be texting and calling me. I even tried to get a new number and she still somehow ended up calling me!

"Mum, can't you and Dad go up to Bradford and leave Jess and I here?" I asked. I truly didn't want to go as much as Jess.

"Jess there will be many more opportunities for you to go to the prom, and I cannot leave two teenagers at home alone! You guys will be throwing parties and drinking alcohol and of course someone will bring drugs and you'll be peer pressured and-"

"Okay! Okay! We get it! you don't trust us!" I cut in. God, that could've gone worse.

"Can we at least invite Cole and Skylar to come with us?" Jess offered. Obviously that's not a smart idea on my part, how awkward would it be having to spend time in Bradford with your ex and formal girlfriend? I heard my mum sigh.

"I guess I will allow you to bring Cole if it is alright Jess, but Nathan you are still grounded. So you may not bring Skylar along," she pointed out. I was infuriated. I looked over at Jess who shot me an apologetic look saying 'I tried' before leaving the room.

"Thats unfair mum! Why can't I just take Skylar with me now and continue my punishment when we get back?" I yelled.

"Because I feel as a parent it isn't right to give the punishments a break, because the reason for punishments in the first place are to teach you a lesson," she babbled on. I decided it was not even worth my breath and walked out.

"I hate my family so much," I groaned under my breath. I walked into my room and slammed the door shut behind me. I was so angry that I walked over to my wall and my fist hit against the wall from my anger.

"Nathan?" I heard a petite voice call. I looked out my window to see Skylar standing there with a worried and confused look on her face.

"What's going on?" She asked.

I slumped onto my bed and sat thinking about what I was going to say to her for the longest time.

"Nathan?" Her voice rose through my ears again. I took a deep breath before telling her every little detail about going to Bradford and how she couldn't come along and that I would be stuck with my ex, who I'm sure probably still wasn't over me.

SUMMER STARTS TODAYYYYY! :D

Yes, I'm officially off of school now, which means that I can start writing more and more chapters since I have more time and I MIGHT be starting a story, but if I do you probably won't see it until it's completely finished considering it'll be like my side job besides writing for CMDIL and this story. :)

By the way, for the Americans that saw The Wanted Life, how was the second episode?! I absolutely loved it, so much comedy! The only thing I hated was how Siva acted, and how Nareesha was kind
