He woke up to the sound of the wind blowing through his open window. It was another boringly normal morning. He doesn't care about mornings at all. That is because as a paranormal investigator he works at night. But this is not the only reason. In fact, he isn't able to walk into the sunlight. He has gotten used to it though after all these years as a vampire. All the errands that had to be run in the morning were done by his wife, who knew about his terrifying second nature. However, she isn't afraid of him for the reason that she isn't normal either. Yui is a witch, a very powerful one actually.
"Good morning Kage!" She said with a cheerful voice
"Morning." replied Kageyama
"Do you still have those terrible nightmares?" Yui asked as she could see the scared look on his face.
"Yeah, that last investigation has taken its toll on me." Kageyama said.
"Why do you keep doing this?" She said, ready to burst into tears.
"Because I have to get rid of all of them!" He answered as though that last question had offended him.
"They died 15 years ago,aren't you ready to move on yet? Yui said.
"I will get over it when the lot of those filthy vampires are dead." He said while caressing Yui to calm her down.
Yui then kissed him and said: "Do you know how sad I will be if you get killed?" A tear was making its way down from her eye all the way to her chin.
"I won't get killed, that's a promise" Said Kage. But before he has finished his sentence, he saw the front door of their manor closing.
(This talk had brought them from their bedroom to the living room downstairs.) Yui left crying. Her face was red and here eyes were swollen. She wanted to be alone and knew that he couldn't follow her. She went to the beach, the only place that soothes her mind and started singing while gazing into the deep blue ocean...
