I woke up the next morning to the sunshine peeking through the cracks in the blinds. I opened the window all the way and checked my emails, nothing but junk mail.

I looked at the time; 10am, it was later than I usually got up, but I had a hard time falling asleep last night after the fight. I walked out into the kitchen, my dad was nowhere to be seen. He had probably already left for work.

I got a bowl of cereal for breakfast and pulled on my skinny jeans with a lime green tank top and an open white cardigan on top. I pulled my brown hair up into a messy bun and got on my old black low-tops.I looked at myself in the full- length mirror of my walk-in closet, I wasn't exactly a beauty pageant winner, but I looked prettty enough.

I grabbed my car keys off my dresser and walked out the door. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going but I knew that I just wanted to leave this place.

When I walked out of the elevator into the lobby, I asked for my mail at the front desk. I saw a bunch of ads , a few bills, and a letter adressed to mandy stevensons. I never got mail, so this I was curious about.

I looked at the return adress and instantly recognized it. It was from Yale University. I knew my mother had made me apply there after I got straight A's my senior year of high school. So, I figured it was probably my rejection letter. Me, in yale! Dream on! There is no way that could happen.

But, out of curiosity I opened it anyway. Anything can happen, right! I sat down on the bench outside of my apartment building and crossed my fingers. Then I unfolded the letter and read the words that would change my life forever.

Thanks guys! So you probably already figured that Mandy got accepted at Yale. When I started the story I hadn't even thought of adding that, but it just came to me last night. I hope you guys like it. I can't thank you enough. Keep supporting my story. - Lauren
