No moonlight shone on a landscape of bleakness. There wasn't much in the way of scenery, they were on a tall hill, the green grass long gone. The grass was now black, frost covered the tips of the grass blades but it was black frost. The trees around them were black too, their leaves blown away on a long ago wind. Instead of moonlight the night was pitch black, no moon would ever shine there, never again. The place looked eery and inhospitable, no one had lived on this land for years. The rumble of thunder rolled across the sky. In a brief flash of lightning the landscape was shown to be lifeless. No life was seen or heard. That was until the lightning disappeared. When darkness took over the landscape again there was nothing to be seen. Suddenly a pair of yellow eyes blinked in to existence, they were human on closer inspection. The lightning flashed again and this time life was seen in this barren landscape. Seven human shapes were huddled in the darkness. The yellow eyed human was in the centre of the group. This group included three boys and four girls. The group flinched as thunder rumbled loudly in the still night air. Everyone except the yellow eyed girl. She looked up at the sky and smiled. She loved storms. The girl pulled her black hooded cloak over herself and put up the hood. The other members of the group did likewise.
" Are they coming?" One of the girls asked tentatively, her voice slicing through the darkness.
" Yes," the yellow eyed girl answered as she surveyed the land.
" do you think they'll like what you have to tell them?" one of the boys asked.
" No Andy, they just love hearing about death and destruction," retorted another of the girls sarcastically.
She meant it as a joke, but then a flicker of doubt crossed her mind.
" Some do," the yellow eyed girl answered grimly.
" great," Andy muttered.
" Rising Storm, do the other faces like each other?" asked another of the boys.
" No," the yellow eyed girl, Rising Storm, answered bluntly.
Six golden shapes appeared on the landscape. Four were wolves, all different colours. One was human and the other was both. The third face had arrived. When the golden glow subsided the six shapes dropped to the ground and lay motionless. The first group quickly jogged over to them. The blonde girl bent over the human and touched her neck to feel her pulse.
" They're okay, just out cold," the girl noted.
" Thank you for that observation Sophie, we noticed," one of the boys said.
Sophie stuck her tongue out at him.
Rising Storm bent over a girl that looked exactly like her but wearing different clothes. The girl blinked open identical yellow eyes and let out a deep wolffish snarl.
" Now, now, don't snarl at yourself," Rising Storm scolded.
Alex let out another growl.
" We may technically be the same girl but it won't stop me from punching you up when this meeting is over," Alex growled threateningly.
" Great idea, can I help?" Iris added with annoyance in her tone.
" get in line," Alex answered with narrowed eyes.
" Rising Storm, are they serious?" a boy asked worriedly.
" Yes Peter, they are very serious," Rising Storm answered.
" Your friends aren't what I expected, I thought they would be older," Alex commented with a raised eyebrow.
" We may be young but you're younger. We can still beat you any time we want to," Sophie snapped as she summoned a ball of fire in to her hand. The others did likewise with their own powers, all except for Rising Storm. Alex raised her eyebrow and their elemental powers shut off. Sophie's fire went out with a hiss. She gawked at Alex, her eyes darting from her extinguished hand to the young girl in front of her.
" Maybe we should forget about that last comment," Sophie stuttered.
" Maybe," Alex said with a sly smile.
Sophie backed away in such a hurry she crashed in to Andy.
" Now, now, enough of this talk. Let us get to the real reason we were brought here, although, between you and me. I would hold off on comments like that unless you want to volunteer for target practice, should we Sophie Redmond?" Alex said as she studied her nails.
" That's creepy, how does she know my name?" Sophie said fearfully.
" She's The Huntress, it's her duty to know the names of her possible enemies," Iris said.
The air became filled with pent up tension. A sound of lightning and the smell of ozone buzzed through the night air. A thin, swirling tornado with lightning flashing inside it materialised. A thin column of glistening water materialised next to it. They touched down to earth and then were gone.
" The second face, always knew how to make an entrance," Rising Storm muttered.
Two girls strode over to the group, their faces filled with annoyance but worry.
" What's this about? Is something wrong?" The second Rising Storm asked.
" Yes, but I won't say until the others get here," the first Rising Storm answered.
A large group of teenagers walked out of the forest. Fang was at the head of their group.
" We have come," Fang said.
" Only one more face is left to arrive, where are they?" Alex asked.
" Trust wolves to be late," the last boy said in annoyance.
" John, be quiet," Sophie ordered.
A large pack of multicoloured wolves made their way out of the woods, leading them was the third Rising Storm.
" Now we're all here, why don't we start with introductions," Fang said calmly.
" I am Fang, half wolf and half human. These are my friends: Marker who is half human half snow leopard, Talon who is half human half eagle, Claw who is half human half archaeopteryx, Russet who is half human half fox, Whisker who is half human half fossa, Spot who is half human half fishing cat, Stripe who is half tiger half human and my boyfriend, Lieutenant who is half human and half panther." Fang introduced without hesitation.
" You have interesting names, why Marker?" John asked in confusion.
" Because we chose our own names," Fang said in annoyance.
" You got to choose your own names and you named yourself after a type of pen?" Sophie asked Marker.
Marker, a pretty Asian girl, looked annoyed at this, she made a 'seriously?' gesture at her friends.
" I am called Marker because after fighting me you bare the mark of my claws," Marker said in a tone that was filled with ice.
" Okay, before we start world war three let's get on with more introductions," Fang soothed.
" We already did start World War Three back in our world," Murmured Andy.
" I'll go next. I am Rising Storm, leader of the origins and protector of my home. This is my sister, Water," The second Rising Storm said.
Peter sniggered at that comment but was silenced by a glare from one of the girls he was with.
" How can you be called Rising Storm? Isn't that other girl over there called Rising Storm too, and that massive she wolf over there?" Asked Lieutenant in utter confusion.
" They are already supernova, Rising Storm is the name of supernova," Fang explained.
" I am Rising Storm, this is Katie, she has the powers of nature. This is Sophie, she has the powers of fire, This is Aurora, she has the power of the sky, this is Andy, he has the powers of ice. This is Peter, he has lava powers and this is John who has the powers of the earth," Rising Storm introduced.
" Amateurs, let me introduce my pack. I am Rising Storm. These are Dawn Break, Galaxy, Water Fall, Dust Fire, Metal Strike, Dark Flower and Season," Rising Storm said in her deep voice. The horse sized she wolf towered over the others, her muscles rippling and her lean body ready for battle. She would be a formidable fighter. " Our names speak for what our powers are," Rising Storm added.
" I suppose I am last then. I am technically called Rising Storm but I go by my first name, Alex. This is my friend Iris, she is human. My pack are here as well. These are Breaking Dawn, Silver Frost, Shadowed Moon and Tall Oak," Alex said.
" Doesn't a pack usually consist of five or more wolves where you come from? yours has only four," Aurora asked.
" Who do you think the fifth is?" Alex answered as she turned her yellow eyes on the girl.
Aurora gulped but managed to give a shaky nod.
" This is great and everything but why did this meeting get called?" Water asked in a melodious voice.
" There was a slight problem with supernova," the first Rising Storm answered hesitantly.
" What problem? It went smoothly and with no complications," Dawn Break asked.
" Actually, didn't any of you wonder where we came from? We are called the faces but whose faces are we?" the first Rising Storm answered.
" The original Rising Storm is still out there and she is the only one who can save our worlds for she knows who this villain is," the first Rising Storm added.
" There is a villain?" Silver Frost asked.
" Yes, the man my group and I fought said that he worked for someone worse, someone more powerful than ever," she answered.
" So this new villain, why do they involve us all?" Iris queried.
" Because this villain holds the key to destroying the world," Sophie answered.
" Uh, so do we," Fang commented dryly.
" True enough but we don't want this villain to succeed in destroying our people," the first Rising Storm rebuked.
" So, who is this villain?" Lieutenant asked.
" We don't know, apparently all the ones we've faced so far have been working for whoever this guy is. The thing is, only the original Rising Storm knows who this is," Katie answered.
" Well, let's go find her and get this over with. All of us together should be fine," Alex proposed confidently.
" That's the problem we face. None of us knows where she is, she could be in any of our worlds and is probably the most well hidden," the first Rising Storm answered with a sigh.
" Maybe we should split up and look for her?" Tall Oak suggested.
" Yes but I don't think we should each search our own worlds, maybe we should search each other's so that we won't miss anything because we rule it out," Dark Flower suggested.
" Searching other worlds sounds like the best idea. We should go with this idea, does everyone agree?" Russet agreed.
" We will go," Fang answered.
" We will go," the second Rising Storm announced.
" So will we," Alex answered.
" Of course we will," the third Rising Storm answered.
" We will also," the first Rising Storm answered.
" Then that is settled. I think my group and I will search Alex's land," Fang said.
" My pack and I will search Rising Storm's land," the third Rising Storm announced.
" Watch out for our sisters, they can be a bit temperamental at times. Rising Storm and I will search Rising Storm's land," Water announced.
" Look out for bear beasts while you're
there," Andy advised with a shiver.
" I will take my group and search your land," Alex said to the wolves.
" That leaves us to search Fang's land," the first Rising Storm finished.
" There is one clue. We were given a name, The Wolf Queen," Katie added.
" Let's go look for The Wolf Queen then," Alex announced.
