Until I Met You

Chapter 1

It was the start of December and the cold was already bearing down on the students of Gray Stone Prep school.

Achoo!

"This cold is so troublesome" sniffled Kean Grayson a sophomore at Gray Stone Prep.

He got up slowly and rubbed the sleep off his eyes, his clock said it was 5 minutes past 7 so he still has at least an hour before school starts.

"Kean, Kean mom said you have to get up now!" Kean's 7 year old sister called as she burst through his door.

Kean patted his little sister's head and gave her a crooked smile "Tell mom i'm up Chloe".

"Okay!" 

He went to the bathroom to take a bath when the mirror caught his eye. The square band-aid on his left cheek hasn't fallen off while he slept. You see Kean is the target of bullies at his school, probably because he was very lanky and always excluded a "Come here!! Beat me up!! I don't fight back" kind of vibe.

It wasn't like Kean couldn't defend himself, the fact is Kean could beat up anyone that tried to bully him. It's just that he couldn't find enough motivation to do so, to him it would be a bother to fight back so he just let them beat him up;much to the dismay of his mother.

Achoo!

"I must angered someone from up high to have this cold" grumbled Kean as he trudged up the hill towards his school

It hasn't snowed yet but it was really unbelievably cold. Kean got to his locker and removed his jacket, shoving it in his locker. He kept his black scarf snuggled around him as he checked if his uniform is in order.

The official Gray Stone Prep uniform consists of a gray coat, white button down shirt, red necktie and dark brown pants for the guys. For the girls,it follows the same color combination, they wear a white button down blouse that is covered with a gray vest, partnered with a red ribbon and a brown plaid skirt that reached their knees.

You could say anything you want about Kean. He is lazy and a really hard person to motivate but he is a genius.

The class applauded at him when the results of the exams came, it was Kean that topped all of them, all with a perfect mark also take in consideration that Kean is in AP classes in which people struggle to pass when they are placed there.

As lunch rolled around Kean bought a plain bread from the cafeteria and brought it back to their room so he can eat in peace.

"Kean my man!"

Kean turned around as he took a bite out of his bread. It was Marshall Wallace, Kean's oldest friend, probably his only friend. They went to middle school together, unlike Kean who is always devoid of energy Marshall is the total opposite. He was the captain of their old school's basketball team, a very charismatic person and a bit of a wild spirit. 

"Awesome job with the exams Kean" Marshall grinned

Marshall is also in the same AP classes with his friend.

"Hnn" Kean replied

"Oh look at you acting cool, I bet the ladies are already beating down at your door for a date!" Marshall laughed as he nudged Kean.

"You're an idiot, is getting a date the only thing on your mind?" Kean drawled

"Uhh let's see..hmm tough one, OF COURSE! unlike you I plan to have a girlfriend and marry her" Marshall replied

"Didn't you said that when you were with Abbey? and Drew? also with Lacy? and who could forget Olivia" Kean teased

"Okay shut up genius" Marshall said as he shoved Kean "So I haven't found the right girl yet"

"Whatever makes you sleep at night" Kean said which earned him another shove

School passed by quickly and before Kean knew it it was already time to go home.

"Hey don't  forget we play Call of Duty later, we need to teach a few noobs a lesson, and the Marshall Law is in town!' Marshall said while holding an imaginary gun and shooting imaginary enemies.

"Whatever you say Marshall Law" Kean said as he pushed his friend.

"Don't forget okay? I need to go now, coach would be mad if i'm late again"

Kean didn't felt like going home so he decided to stick around the school for a while. His feet automatically took him towards the rooftop even though he didn't have his coat. He sensed that he was being followed he decided to take a different route.

Kean took them to the third floor,once he was sure there are no students around he stopped and leaned on the wall. A few moment later the people that was following him showed up. It was Gary West and some of cronies.

Gary is a junior and the one that always bullied Kean.

"Hey heard you topped the AP exams" Gary smirked as he cracked his knuckles

"Hnn"

"You know what's coming up Grayson, get ready!"

Yuki Stephens was enjoying her hot chocolate and reading 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinback. The sole member of the Literary club was enjoying her moment of peace when she heard laughing. It was weird for her since no one comes to the third floor especially after class.

When the sound of the laughter passed she opened the door a little, then when she saw no one she opened the door completely. She looked towards the direction of the fading laughter. She decided that it was nothing when something caught her eye. Someone was sprawled on the floor seemingly unconscious.

Yuki's common sense told her to just leave him but something stopped her. She walked towards the mysterious guy and was surprised at what she saw. There is a huge contusion on the guy's right cheek, his lips was bleeding, and there were a few bruises located below his left eye.

She dragged the guy towards her club room, laid him on the couch and started tending to his bruises. When she finished Yuki sat down on her chair at the corner of the room. She looked at the guy that was lying on her couch. He has spikey auburn hair, fair white complexion and a lanky built. Yuki guessed that he is a sophomore like her.

The guy looked like he is going to be out for a while so Yuki refilled her hot chocolate from her thermos, grabbed her book and continued reading, waiting for the mystery guy to wake up.
