Scarlett Rodriguez;

"Come on baby girl I have to take you to day care!" I yell as I hear her little footsteps clash against the floor.

"Mommy" she whines as she holds her little blanket in one hand and rubs her little hand against her eye.

"Baby" I sigh as I bend down to get at her height "I can't stay home today, and you little miss certainly can not stay home alone" I say pinching her cheek

She lets out a little giggle and wraps her small arms around my neck

"let's go!" I say picking her up and putting her on the left side of my hip.

"I love you baby I'll be back in a little ok?" I smile hugging her and planting a little kiss on her forehead.

Today was little Alanis' birthday and I had to get decorations and all that stuff.

Although she thought I was headed to work. I really wasn't, I had asked for the day off because I couldn't miss my babygirl's 3rd birthday party.

I head to Michael's to get some party decorations and little stuff for Alanis.

I get in line to wait to pay. there was hardly anyone in line except for a woman in front of me and a man behind me.

I turn around looking around the store as I still awaited to pay.

My eyes land on a man walking around the store in the crafts and art aisle.

I quickly look back ahead of me and pray for the workers to hurry up.

Although they're elders so looks like that option is over.

"Next in line" the old lady says I quickly go to the check stand and put everything in front of me.

I look back at the line and I see him there.

He looks up from his phone and we make eye contact.

His face softens and I look back at the lady.

She gives me my balance and I give her the money telling her to keep the change.

I quickly grab the bags and head towards the car.

I put the bags behind and shut the door.

The automatic doors from the store open and he comes out running towards the car.

I walk back to the front to get in the car but he's there by the time I am.

"Scarlett" he says somewhat out of breath

"Hi Hayes"
