"Hey beautiful." Landon said as he walked in. It made my heart skip a beat.

"Oh stop, I'm not beautiful. I'm just... me." With that, he sighed, shaking his head.

"You really don't know, do you? I guess with a year or so of Travis putting you down, you wouldn't know. Caryn, you're so perfect, I can't even begin to explain. Look at yourself. Your eyes can make anyone melt and break their hearts without even saying a word to them. The way your hair curls and reaches down to your waist is enough to make any girl jealous. Your face is completely flawless, just like your personality. Why do you think everyone falls for you? Look at Mark, for example. Do you see the way he looks at you? I bet he'd do anything to be with you. Hell, I don't even know why you'd want me. You're so out of my league, it's crazy. Even look at Tom! He barely says a word to you and couldn't bare to look you in the eyes without getting pissed at Travis for what he did to you. He tried to destroy someone beautiful and no one can comprehend why. You wanna know why your parents were so protective of you? They know how drop dead gorgeous you are and that letting you out into the world could cause some havoc, and obviously they were right. You dated someone from one of the most famous bands out there, and they don't just date anyone. Sure, he was an asshole, but it's still crazy. I don't get how you just don't see it in yourself, Caryn. You are absolutely flawless, and I love you." I just sat there and stared at Landon, not knowing what to say. He's my best friend, and I've never seen him like this with anyone else. I looked at the mirror the hospital so greatfully provided, and saw myself in a new light. He boosted my confidence, even though he doesn't know it. I looked back at Landon with a smile on my face and love and happiness in my heart and kissed him. The passion between us was really undeniable, and I never wanted it to end. A nurse came knocking on the door, which Landon had to get. "I'm sorry, but visiting hours are over. you'll have to leave now."

"Okay, thank you. I'll be leaving soon." He smiled at the nurse and she walked away, almost floating. His smile can do that to you. "Alright, babe, I have to go. But before I go, can I ask you something?" I nodded, smiling. "Will you be my girlfriend?" My smile grew even wider than before.

"Yes, I'd love to be your girlfriend." He smiled and we kissed again, finally happy and ready to take on the world. "I love you, Landon."

"I love you too, Caryn. I'll see you tomorrow." He kissed my forehead and walked out, shutting off the lights. For once, finally, my dreams won't turn into nightmares. Everything is finally in place. I'm happy and in love with my best friend.
