I started to wonder in my own thoughts as I sat in the shade of a damp tree that was planted in our bowl.
Can I really escape from here?
Will I ever see my parents again?
I saw a few chatterboxes walk over to the ledge of our bowl, which was raised up above us, reaching down and throw a small fish down. I looked over to it, but before lunging for it, the female ran over to it and snatched the small little fish up.
I sat myself down, letting out a soft sigh. Looking down at my paws, the sound of the keeper door opening rung in my ears. Finally, food! I jerked my head up and ran over to the feeders, hungry for meat. Ochaila followed behind me, roaring. The keepers, like the chatterboxes, but dressed differently and have access to our bowl, started to put chunks and pieces of juicy, red, blood oozing meat. My mouth watered as I stared at the delicious meat. The keepers left as they filled the feeder, and I practically dived in, clamping my jaws against a particularly huge piece. I slowly grabbed out the heavy kill, with all my force. I started to drag it away. "Oh no you don't," Ochaila chuckles, trotting over to me, "Too much for you." He sliced the piece into two and took a slab in his jaws, glaring at me. The blood dripped down his chin fur, looking quite frightening. I whimper, taking my now smaller piece and desperately running away, worried he'll nip my small tail.
I lied down with the food still secured on my sharp teeth, the juices practically pouring down my mouth and lower jaw. I set the meat down and clawed at it whilst chewing some pieces off and swallowing them down, licking my lips when done. More chatterboxes started to gather around the bowl, some smaller than others. They usually pointed and chattered, as their name implies.
I watched the female tiger slowly walk over to me. I tried to focus on my food, which was already half gone. "You should learn to respect me and Ochaila, Taliku." She says, twitching her nose. I ignored her, silent as a mouse. She growled, baring her sharp, bloodstained teeth. "Answer me." She said, placing her long and sharp claws against my forehead, scarring my pelt. I whimper, trembling in fear.
