Chapter 6: New Changes

*The next morning Tara wakes up to someone calling her name. Maya: mommy ! Mommy wake up! Tara: good morning baby how did you sleep lay night? Maya: I slept good mom how about you? Tara: I slept good Maya: who's that sleeping next to you? Tara: that's mommy's friend Carolina Maya: who's Carolina? *after hearing that Carolina wakes up* Carolina: *yawns* good morning you guys Tara: good morning hun Maya: good morning who are you? Carolina: *smiles* my name is Carolina and I was the nurse that helped you in the hospital. I know you don't remember me but I remember you. Maya: hi Carolina you're pretty Carolina: aww thank you Maya your pretty too. Maya: *smiles and walks over to carolina* Carolina: you want to sit next to me? Maya: *nods head yes* Carolina: okay *picks Maya up and sits next to her* Tara: aww what do you guys want for breakfast? Maya: I want waffles and eggs with cheese Carolina: I want waffles and eggs too *smiles* Tara: okay waffles and eggs it is *walks over to the kitchen and starts cooking waffles and eggs* Carolina: so Maya how old are you? Maya: I am 6 years old. Carolina: my daughter is the same age as you. Maya: what's your daughter name? Carolina: her name is Marlissa Maya: she has a pretty name Carolina: aww thank you I heard your going to start school soon Maya: yes I'm going to school soon Carolina: your going to the same school as her too. Maya: really ? Carolina: yes Maya: what school does she go to Carolina: Country Valley Elementary School Maya: oh wow Carolina: it's a really good school and you'll make friends and you'll love it there I promise. Maya: yeah mommy was telling me that. Tara: breakfast is ready guys *Carolina and Maya race to the kitchen to see who will get their first and Maya won* Carolina: aww man you won I'll win next time! Maya: uh uh I'll win next time Carolina: *laughs* your faster than me! Maya: I'm the flash girl ! Carolina: *laughs* yes flash girl beat me! *everyone eats their breakfast and talk about what they are going to do today after breakfast everyone cleans up* Tara: Maya go get dressed so we can leave to enroll you in school. Maya: okay mom *Maya runs upstairs and changes* Carolina: Today is my off day so is it okay if I stay here while you run your errands? Tara: yes it's okay your welcome here anytime like I said if you need anything don't hesitate to call me! Carolina: I won't hun and thank you your house is safe with me. Tara: your welcome hun *Maya runs downstairs and grabs her phone and bag* Maya: I'm done mom Tara: okay baby let's go Maya: bye Carolina see you later Carolina: bye hunny see you soon. *Tara and Maya get in the car and drive to the school* Clerk: hello ma'am how can I help you today? Tara: hello I'm here to enroll my daughter into school. Clerk: oh yes you called here a few days ago asking if we had any spots right? Tara: yes I did Clerk: your in luck we have a spot available Tara: omg thank you so much ma'am Clerk: your more than welcome and who's this little one? Tara: this is my daughter Maya Clerk: omg she's beautiful hi Maya my name is Ms. Jones Maya: hello Ms. Jones Tara: she's a little shy she's usually hyper Ms. jones: oh that's all right with me all the kids here are shy but after a few weeks they start to break out of that shell. Tara: I'm glad because she'd be running around here right about now *laughs* Ms. Jones: *laughs* here are the paperwork for the enrollment all I need from you mom is your id and her id. *grabs the id's from in her purse and hands it to Ms. Jones* Ms. Jones: I'm just going to scan these you can have a seat while I do that. Tara: okay thank you *walks to the chairs and sits down and starts filling out the paperwork after an hour and a half the paperwork is done* Tara: I'm done with the paperwork Ms. Jones: okay let me check it *hands her the paperwork and hands back the ids* Tara: thank you *after 5 mins* Ms. Jones: alright hun your all set! Now the bus picks her up at 7:45am and they get here around 8:00am school starts at 8:15 sharp, lunch & breakfast are free but if you would like to drop off lunch or breakfast for her you can do that. Her classes are all in one building so she doesn't have to go far. We have different holidays every month because the kids love it & the kids get creative. I will email you all the activities we do here very month and other information about the school as well. If you have any questions please feel free to call me or the principal. Tara: thank you so much and are there any fees that I need to pay for? Ms. Jones: the only fee we will need is $40 for the school uniform on Fridays we don't wear uniform. Tara: okay do I pay the fee now or once she starts school? Ms. Jones: you pay the fee once she starts school but if you want to pay it now your more than welcome to. Tara: okay I'll pay it now. Ms. Jones: okay hun *pays the fee* okay Ms. Smith Maya is all set and ready to start school tomorrow morning. Tara: thank you so much I really appreciate it Ms. Jones I'll see you tomorrow morning sharp. Maya: bye bye Ms. Jones: bye bye hun. *Tara walks out of the school and walks to the car and puts Maya in the backseat and drives to the mall* *arrives at the mall* Tara: ready to go shopping? Maya: yes I am  Tara: okay let's go *walks around the mall and does a little shopping and drives back home* *yells* HONEY IM HOME! Carolina: I'm glad your back home I missed you Tara: I missed you more hunny *laughs and puts her bags down* Maya: mom ? Tara: yes baby? Maya: can I show Carolina what I got at the mall? Tara: if that's alright with her then yes Maya: Carolina can I show you what I got? Carolina: I would love to see what you got from the mall hun Maya: *face lifts up with joy* okay I'll be back with the first outfit *runs upstairs to her room* Tara: *laughs* she is something else I swear Carolina: all kids are like that she reminds me of my daughter Tara: awww I feel like they are going to be best friends one day Carolina: I definitely agree because my daughter is so nice and friendly, she loves people but she also has a temper. Tara: oh I know exactly what you mean my daughter is the same way Carolina: I would ask all the time where did she get this attitude from and then I realize it's from me Tara: I be saying the same thing Carolina: so how did  your errands go? Tara: they were good I stopped by the mall after I got her enrolled in school and the front desk lady Ms. Jones told me she'll email me all the information I need about the school. Carolina: Ms. Jones is a lovely lady, she's loves kids. She would always buy the kids gifts on Fridays because she appreciates all the students at the school. Tara: that is amazing, she is nice because when I got there she was very excited to see me. Carolina: yes that's how she was when I enrolled Marlissa, she couldn't stop staring at her, she literally gave her a pink bracelet that she wears everyday. Tara: awww she did the same thing to Maya except she didn't get a bracelet but she admired Maya. Carolina: yeah like I said she loves kids. *Maya yells from her room "ARE YOU GUYS READY!* both yell: YES MA'AM *Maya walks down with a dress she picked out herself* Maya: so what do we think? Carolina & Tara: I love it it's very pretty on you Maya: thank you *hugs them both and runs back upstairs and puts on a fashion show for them after 10 mins Maya runs upstairs and puts all her clothes away* Carolina: *knocks on the door* Maya hunny can I come in? Maya: yes you can it's open Carolina: *walks in* omg you have a beautiful room, I love the way you decorated it. Maya: thank you my favorite color is yellow & white. Carolina: those are mine too! Maya: *giggles* we are friends now Carolina: *giggles* yes your my friend Maya: so friend what did you do while me & mommy were gone? Carolina: I just cleaned the house and watched tv until you guys came back. Maya: ohh okay what were you watching? Carolina: it was a kids show I don't remember Maya: okay next time you watch it I wanna watch it with you Carolina: we can definitely do that tonight if you like Maya: movie day we can have popcorn, order pizza and drink soda. Carolina: or we can go to the pizza place and pick it up and drive back to the house to watch the show. Maya: yes let's tell mommy and see what she say Carolina: okay let's go *Maya holds Carolina's hand and rushes to Tara's room* Maya: *yells* mommy! mommy!mommy! Tara: yes baby what's up? Maya: me & Carolina have something to tell you Tara: what is it? Maya: we want to have a movie night where we order pizza and drink soda! So can we pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee have one? Tara: well Carolina is going to have to spend the night and i don't know if she would want to because she might have work tomorrow. Carolina: I don't have work tomorrow my job called me today saying that all staff don't need to come in tomorrow due to over staff, so they won't be needing me because they already have people. Tara: well would you like to spend the night ? Carolina: I would love to *Maya and Carolina scream "SLEEPOVERRRRR"! Tara: yes sleep over so what kind of pizza has everyone decided on? Maya: I want pepperoni pizza mom Carolina: with sausage? Maya: yesss ! How did you know? Carolina: that's how I've always eaten pizza, since I was a little girl my mom accidentally got pepperoni pizza that had sausage in it, I thought I wasn't going to like it but ever since then I've always liked it. Maya: oh wow mommy got a pizza like that and when I ate it I ate 3 slices. Carolina: for such a small girl you can eat Tara: that's definitely true I be asking her where does the weight go Maya: it goes in my stomach and out my butt *laughs* Tara: *laughs* I know that's right *Tara gets out of the room and grabs her phone from off the kitchen table, receives a anonymous text *"I KNOW YOUR HIDING SOMEWHERE AND WHEN I FIND YOU TRUST ME YOUR GOING TO WISH YOU NEVER LEFT 😈", out the phone down and looks at her phone frightened* Carolina: *walks downstairs* hey hun you okay? Tara: um I-I'm okay Carolina: Maya can you do me a favor? Maya: yes Carolina: go in the living room and pick out any movie you want to watch and let me know what your top 3 are okay? Maya: okay you got it *Maya runs to the living room and turns on the tv* Carolina: now back to you are you sure your okay? Tara: I didn't want to say anything to you in front of Maya but *hands her her phone* Carolina: *reads the message and gasps* who would Tex thou something like that? Tara: *gulps* I thought he would never find me fuck! Carolina: who's he? Tara: my BD Carolina: he sent you this text message? But how do you know it's him? Tara: because... he's a stalker and possessive Carolina: oh no we can't deal with that, Maya needs to be somewhere safe! Tara: I know she does I'm thinking about sending her to mom or dad. Carolina: where do they stay? Tara: back home in ATL Carolina: do you think she'll be safe there? Tara: I trust my parents, they live in the white neighborhood. That's what you call the suburbs. Carolina: okay that's good do they have high security and cameras? Tara: yes they have cameras in and out of their house, they make sure they have a secure security system in their house due to Maya. They care and love her that much that they are willing to keep her safe. Carolina: I envy your parents, I wish my parents were like that. They care and love my kid too but they don't like having her around sometimes. Tara: how come they don't like having her around sometimes? Carolina: because of who her father is Tara: who's her father? Carolina: her father is from the cartel, he smuggled money and drugs for a living, idk what he does now because we haven't spoken in years. Tara: omg my bd was in something like that but he never told me what he actually did. Carolina: that's weird because usually they tell people that they trust. Tara: well we didn't trust each other and he swear I was cheating the whole time and I wasn't. Carolina: my bd was the same way, I never really understood men who accuse women of cheating when they are the ones that are doing it. Tara: I totally agree because women are faithful we don't cheat. Carolina: I agree but girl let's go roll one up before this movie. *Tara & Carolina go to the balcony and roll one before the movie after 30 mins pass they walk back to the living room, ordered pizza, ate and watched a movie and fall asleep*
