"Wake up Little One." Anthony faintly tickled my sides until he heard my familiar giggle, waking me from my slumber on his back. "We're here."

I raised my head to find to find a camp built around a broken-down church. There were dozens of people; all of them in black. Their tents were made of ragged cloth, some had holes throughout them while others were filled with patches of different fabric. As people milled about, they merely glanced in our direction, a few sending us smiles before turning away. Jinxx led us through the crowds, right up to the steps of the church.

I clutched onto Anthony a bit tighter, keeping my gaze fixated ahead of us. Jinxx brought us inside, where a group of men stood. A girl stood close by the group, though she paid no attention to them, instead looking down at a map in her hands. Near the back of the church, behind the altar, was another boy—he leaned against the surface, deeply invested in the book that sat before him. As I watched, he grabbed a brush and let his hand glide across a hidden piece of paper.

"Ah, Jinxx!" One of the members of the group called. "You made it back in one piece!" The man laughed, his brown eyes turning to slits as he laughed. Everyone around him seemed to be infected by the man's laughter, joining in with low chuckles and smiles of their own.

The man with eyes the color of the sea after a storm turned his gaze on me, nodding in acknowledgement. "Who's the girl?" He moved toward us, the rest of the group following.

Anthony set me down on the ground, keeping a hand on my shoulder. "She's my friend. I couldn't just leave her." The two men continued to go back and forth about me, the others staring at me, waiting for me to speak.

Frustrated, I spat. "I have a name, you know."

Both of the men before me stopped dead in their tracks, focusing on me rather than each other. The man who looked to be the leader of the group stepped toward me, making sure I held his intense gaze. "And what would that be?"

"Jessie." I said rather boldly.

"I heard my name!" The girl called from across the room. Before anyone could say another word, she walked forward and, honestly, we could have been fucking sisters; her hair was shorter than mine, but she had glasses and dark eyes. We also shared the same tanned skin and were both equally skinny. Instead of having just a dull brown, this girl—Jessie, apparently— had bleached hair on the top of her head, with darker hair underneath.

"Damn." We said at the same time. Somewhat shocked, we both took a step forward, studying each other curiously.

"Double trouble." Jinxx blew a strand of hair out of his face, looking to one of the other men and shaking his head.

"While I'd love for this to continue, there's work to be done. Jessie, you take her and get her settled." The blue-eyed man instructed her, nodding towards the bag still slung around my shoulders.

"Got it Andy." She replied with a nod. Without another word, she came to stand by my side, giving me a warm smile. "Don't worry," She leaned in and whispered. "You're gonna love it here."

"Anthony, you go with Brandon. He'll show you around." Andy called over the lanky, blonde haired boy from behind the altar. Upon being called, he stuck whatever he was working on in the book, tucking the brush behind his ear.

"I'll take him to-" Brandon's eyes met my gaze. "Actually, can I show her around?" He smiled at me. His eyes travelled up my body, making me squirm. I hated when people looked at me like I was a piece of meat in a shop window.

"No," Andy nodded to Jessie, who was now glaring at the blonde boy next to the leader. "Jessica is taking her."

An exasperated sigh left Jess's lips as she pointed a skinny finger at Andy. "You know that's the goddamn forbidden name!" She glared at the man in a playful manner, some sort of joke must've been shared between them.
