You walked along the beach inside the "Garden" on a warm, summer day. The calm wind blew your (Insert Colour) hair behind you. You had needed some time to relax and the salty sea air claimed you.
It also reminded you of Takeru, a God in the Garden that you had developed a crush on. Aside from physical attractiveness, Takeru was strong, loyal and caring. He was a bit hotheaded at times but that didn't change your opinion of him.
Anyway, you were so lost in thought that you didn't notice Takeru walking around in the water, collecting seashells. The shimmering waters had completely captivated you, so you hadn't noticed when he walked over until he was directly in front of you.
"Enjoying the view?" he asked, a slight teasing tone in his voice.
"Not at all." You replied, sarcastically.
Takeru rolled his eyes and looked back out to the ocean. You two stayed like this for what felt like hours before Takeru stiffened, having felt something deep beneath the surface of the water.
"Takeru?" You asked, slightly concerned by his sudden serious expression.
He didn't respond, but instead watched as the water quickly receded from the shore. He paled, realizing something you didn't.
"We have to get out of here! Now!" He exclaimed, grabbing your wrist and pulling you through the woods.
"Takeru! What's going on?! Where are we going?!" You demanded doing your best to keep up with him.
"High ground. It's the safest place during a tsunami." He snapped.
Before you could question him, you stumbled over an exposed root and slipped from his grasp. You fell, exhausted from running, but forced yourself back up. Takeru was gone.
Feeling you were running out of time, you rushed to find high ground like Takeru had said. All you could see as you looked back in the direction of the ocean was an enormous wave, seeming to tower miles high.
You shut your eyes as it hit a couple times and when you opened them...you were met with ruin.
You could see the beach and ocean, which was now calm, but the forest was completely destroyed. You couldn't see anything through the debris, not even the path you had taken to get there.
Your stomach dropped as you thought of Takeru. You tried to find any sign of life from your outlook but saw nothing. What if he was hurt?!
Hesitantly, you walked down into the debris. You stepped over fallen branches and around uprooted trees, looking for any sign of the Japanese God.
The sign came in the form of his sweater, ripped and soaked, hanging like miss on a tree branch. This all but confirmed your fear that he has been on flat land when it hit.
You ran until you found him, trapped beneath two fallen trees which formed a canopy over him. He was bleeding from a large cut on his forehead and his ankle was broken, based on the angle it was at.
"Takeru!" You exclaimed, running to him.
"(I/N)...?" He asked, clearly trying to hold in his pain.
"Let me help-"
"No! Go back to the Academy!" He ordered.
"I'm not leaving you here!"
"It wasn't a request!" His voice softened as he looked away from you, "I couldn't live with myself if you got hurt when I could have saved you."
"Takeru..." You whispered.
"If you really want to help me, go get the other gods and send them." Knowing how stubborn he is, you nod and leave.
Upon arriving at the Academy, you explained what had happened to the others. Most left without second thought, Tsukito staying behind to thank you for trying to help his brother before joining the others.
Hours later, the group returned and took Takeru to the hospital wing. His ankle and head were wrapped and he specified that he wanted to talk to you alone so the others left.
"Thank you." He muttered, hissing slightly at the pain in his ankle as he tried to find a more comfortable laying position.
"I could have just left you there. You could have died or something."
Takeru smiled, "You're stronger than I thought. Most people would have left without a second thought." he chuckled, "If only the rest of you was as strong as your heart."
"Hey!" You cried, half offended.
Takeru fell silent after that, becoming interested in his blankets, "I wasn't going crazy in the woods, you know. I care about you a lot more than I should. You're always in my head and if I ever lost you..."
You hadn't seen this side of Takeru hardly ever before. He wouldn't have been likely to hit you like this so you kissed his cheek.
"I love you Takeru." You stated, wondering if it had been a good idea to tell him.
He was silent, then he smiled, "I love you too."
The moment seemed perfect. Then it ended when a certain blond Greek burst into the room, cheering and claiming that he knew all along that you and Takeru would get together eventually.
Takeru rolled his eyes and you chuckled. The two of you locked eyes for a moment and then smiled. With everything that happened and everything that surely will happen, this moment where everyone seemed happy was perfection.
Sadly, those perfect moment must come to an end eventually...
