~ Clove's P.O.V ~

This was it, today was the day that twenty four of us will be put in an arena to fight to the death. I have never been more excited. I could hardly sleep last night, and it wasn't because I was excited, I had a very strange dream. It was the sort of dream that I couldn't tell if it were real or not.

I was in the arena, hunting for the other tributes with the Careers. We had been searching for a while since our last kill, and it was now morning. We were wandering through a forest when we saw a figure in a tree, we ran to it. Not only did we find a tribute, we found Miss Girl on Fire. She was no longer sleeping in her tree, but now struggling to get out of it as we approached. I selected a knife and gripped it. Katniss untangled herself from the ropes but fell out of the tree, and landed right in front of me. I pinned her down, and I struggled doing so as she was bigger than me, but I was stronger. I placed my knife over where her heart is but then I made a mistake, I looked into her eyes. Her pupils were dilated as she looked at me, waiting for death.

"What are you doing Clove? Kill her!" I heard Cato shout from behind. I couldn't, I didn't know what I was doing but all I knew was that, I couldn't.

"If you won't do it, then I will." Glimmer said.

"No!" I snapped and turned my head sideways, breaking eye contact.

"Then kill her!" She shouted back.

"I can't!"

"This is stupid! Why not?" shouted Cato, I looked back at Katniss, and knew.

"Because I-"

I was woken up from my dream and whisked away so my stylist could dress me for the arena. As I was staring in the mirror while Crito dressed me, I wondered what it was that was stopping me from killing Fire Girl and I was sure I would never find out. Nothing will stop me.

Time seemed to fly by and I soon found myself in a elevator with Enobaria.

"They've put all kinds of stuff, right in the front, right in the mouth of the cornucopia. There will be knives there, go straight for them. You're fast, you'll reach them with plenty of time to spare. I trust that you have a strategy, you're gonna need one if you have a chance of killing Cato, but you do have an advantage against all of them, you're smart. You need to use your brain in there, I bet the rest of the Careers will be blinded by the need to kill, I know Cato will." She paused and turned to look at me, I stayed looking ahead. "You keep your head on straight, I think you'll have more than a good chance at winning these games."

The elevator doors opened and some sort of aircraft was waiting for me outside. I started to walk towards it.

"Clove." Enobaria called, causing me to spin around. "Use your brain." She said with a smile. I nodded and walked towards the aircraft. Inside already, was the rest of the Careers seated in their assigned seats. A man placed me at the end of a row of seats and one by one other tributes were placed in their seats. Of course Katniss would be placed in the only seat beside me, because fate it seems is not without a bit of irony. I stayed staring ahead, trying not to look at the girl beside as we got our trackers injected into our arms.

"What is that?" I heard Katniss ask as a lady grabbed her arm and injected her with a tracker, Katniss flinched.

"Your tracker." She replied and turned to me.
