Accidental Roommates

Chapter two: October

"Where are we going Ashton?" I laugh and put my arms out incase I fall.

"Just keep waking forward" he laughed guiding me with his hands over my eyes.

"I'm gonna fall!" I tripped over my foot and clutched his shirt so I didn't land on my face.

"Are you okay?" He asked not moving his hands.

I nodded and got back up. The texture under my feet went from hard to squishy.

"Are we on grass?"

"Yup" he said popping the 'p'

"How much farther?"

"We are here." He angled me so I was facing a certain direction then dropped his hands.

I opened my eyes to see we was beside the lake, the sky was a yellowy-orange colour and there was a hammock hanging over the lake.

"Ashton this is amazing"

He climbed the tree to get on the hammock. Once he was on he helped me up.

"Is this your little hideout then?" I asked admiring the view, not just of the surroundings.

"Well for me and the guys yeah. . ."

"The guys?"

"Yeah my band, well group that the music teacher put us in."

"Are they nice?"

He nodded.

"Luke is the nicest."

I recognised the name immediately.

"Blonde? Tall? Lip piercing?" He nodded at all these statements.

"I gather you've met him then?" I nodded at this.

It was silent for a few moments before Ashton leaned over and splashed me. I squealed like a child.

"Ashton!"

He was laughing so hard the hammock tipped and we both plunged into the water.

As I sank I watched Ash swim to the surface. A few seconds later he dived back down and grabbed my arm to pull me up. I reached the surface and gasped for air.

"Are you okay?" He genuinely looked scared.

"I. . . Can't swim. Well I can just not well." My cheeks, I was pretty sure they were Crimson by now.

"That's okay, I can teach you" he pulled me closer to him and wrapped my legs around him. "For now just hold on to me okay?"

I nodded, a tad hypnotised by him. I had my arms around his neck and my stomach was touching his chest.

"you sure you're okay?" He put one of his hands on the small of my back pulling me closer to him. His other arm was keeping us afloat.

"Yeah" I gasped.

He loosened his grip on me and looked me dead in the eyes. This lasted for a few moments until. . .

"You two are out of bounds" I turned to see madam Faye stood on the grass, her arms folded to her chest.

Ash swam to the grass and helped me out the water before getting out himself.

"I'll send maintenance to hose the mud off you before you come inside" she walked away.

I looked at Ash and we burst out laughing.

Turns out madam Faye wasn't lying. An old guy actually turned up with a garden hose and sprayed us with freezing cold water.

It felt amazing to get in my warm bed after that outdoors shower. I was wearing my Pokemon onesie and some fluffy Cookie Monster socks. Yes Ashton did laugh at me.

"Hey ash?" I said facing the ceiling.

"Mmh?" He sounded tired.

"Thank you" I looked over to see he was looking at me.

He smiled then turned off the light.

I fell asleep a lot easier than I expected seen as I'm still not used to sleeping away from home.

Today was Saturday, I'd been to my morning class and have the rest of the day off.

I decided to listen to Luke and signed up for the music classes too, it means I'll have a lot less free time but at least I can spend the lessons with Luke.

I walked down to the front desk and joined the queue. In front of me was a rather unusual looking guy with pinkish red hair and pale skin.

I could hear him singing to himself.

"Um are you a music student here?" I asked.

He turned around and smiled. His teeth were amazing and his lips were so pink.

"Yeah i am. Are you?"

"About to become one. I'm in dance at the moment"

"That's cool. I'm Michael."

"Danielle, call me Danny though."

"Nice to meet you Danielle call me Danny" he smiled and walked to the desk as it was his turn.

He was buying a new guitar pick or something.

When he finished he waited for me. I signed a sheet and got my timetable updated he suggested we go into the gym. I agreed.

"Nice shirt by the way."

"You like Kurt Cobain?" He asked.

"Big fan" I smirked. He laughed and walked into a cubical to change.

I was wearing a black sports bra with Jack Skellington faces all over and some short shorts. He was wearing a plain blue shirt and black basketball shorts.

We messed around in the gym and ended up balancing on the yoga ball. He lasted 20 seconds and now it was my go.

I got in my position and had been up 10 seconds when I suddenly felt his hand on my upper thigh.

Crap.

I completely forgot about my tattoo! I got it when I was drunk. It's a dark red rose and it is 3 quarters of the way up my thigh.

I come back to my feet and he looks amazed.

"Um, like my tattoo" really that was all I can come up with.

"Actually yes."

We went to the canteen after our gym session and Michael told me about himself and his band, obviously consisting of him, Luke, Ashton and Calum.

Calum being the one who's shirt I stole during the shower incident.

The awkward thing was i was wearing that shirt right now.

"Calum actually has that shirt you know, you'd like him"

"Not anymore he doesn't" I say under my breath.

Luckily Michael didn't hear me.

We got up to leave.

"Hey so d'ya wanna come with us. . . I mean it's a while away but every summer break we go to LA and stay in Ashton's parents villa. I mean it's only October but I'd like to think we will still be close in the future?" You could tell he really wanted me to, his eyes were shining and he had a wide smile across his face.

"I. . . I'd love to" i smiled and he hugged me with one arm and I rested my head on his shoulder as we walked.
