Chapter 1: Killed by a.... CHILD?
Bang. The smell of gun powder wafted through the air...leaving a hole in Dick Turner's head. His name suited him, he was probably the biggest ass hole I had every come across but he was an ass hole with a lot of money.
"Tyde!" screamed Ray, "We have to go!"
I ran as fast as my legs could take me, I had been running for years so I was fairly fast and my long legs took long strides. You could hear that sound from any where, that annoying, deafening sound of sirens.
"I swear police officers are stupid if they are trying to get a murderer don't put on your siren that just gives us time to run." I whispered to myself.
I got to the car, hopped in the front and started the engine. Ray joined me with a smile of victory on his face; he seemed more happy then I did, it might have been the four huge bags of cash in the boot or that it was another job well done. Eric looked at me and smiled, that kid made my day, every day when his huge smile reached his eyes and made him squint.
"How did it go?" Eric asked directing his voice to me.
I smiled at him and replied, "A job well done, thanks for the heads up Eric."
"Did I do a great job, sis?" Eric asked trying not to show too much excitement in his voice.
"Always." I answered.
"When do I get to join in on all the fun, sis?" Eric moaned.
"When you're my age." I laughed.
"But Ray is only sixteen, how come he gets to help you?" Eric said
I noticed just then that Ray was really quiet, he never interrupted Eric and I when we got into our conversation.
"Ray is not my little brother, you are!" I tried to make my voice sound tough but it's hard to be angry at the kid.
"You already have a very important job." Ray said trying to lighten up the mood.
"I know, but one day I'm going to be more helpful and someone else can be look out." Eric said with his fist on his chest and his eyes wide open.
His determanation always reminded me of mom, she would have been proud of her son but I don't think she would have been very proud of me, bringing my little brother to a war zone.
"You can help when you're sixteen." I said trying to bring his hopes up.
"That's not to far only three years." Ray said smiling at Eric.
Ray is always kind and gentle but when he picks up that gun he has no more mercy for any of his victems, I guess he hasn't changed since we first met 3 years ago, how time flies.
"Fine, but you can't change you're mind." He smiled, squinting at me.
I just smiled and nodded.
We drove the rest of the way in silence, when Ray grabbed the steering wheel and turned left to a little cafe.
"WHAT THE HELL, RAY!" I screamed with my chocolate brown eyes wide and weary.
"I apologize, Tyde." Ray said with a straight face.
"Are you trying to get us killed?!" I screeched
"No, I just felt like a cup of coffee plus Giovanni Bartolo only suspects we will be back in another hour." Ray said trying to calm me down
"Warn me next time when you're trying to kill us." I said sarcasticaly
I looked back to see if Eric was okay, he looked very scared.
"Are you okay, Eric?" I asked concerned.
"Of course I am, don't I look fine?" he squeaked with eyes wide and out of breath.
I looked at his hands griped on both our chairs.
"Well... never mind lets go have some coffee and cake I have enough money from the last kill." I said trying to calm Eric.
We sat down at the far corner of the cafe'. People looked at us funny, 3 kids at a coffee shop, at 11:00, on a Monday evening. I looked at them equaly as funny.
I thought, you are at a coffee shop, at 11:00 at night, with no lives. If my father was here he would laugh at them humorlessly and mom would laugh at dad because his just like these people coming to a cafe, at 11:00 at night.
We have a lot in common dad, I thought. I sighed and tried to look interested at the picture of a cake on the menu.
We ordered four cups of black coffee and three orders of black forest cake. It diffently hit the spot, for us all. The waitress gave us a sour look as Eric ordered another coffee muttering
"I hate children... Only three more hourse to go... Only three more hours to go, you can do it woman!"
"I'll pay; I owe you for almost killing us." Ray offered, grinning at both Eric and I.
"You owe me more then that." I said sarcasticaly, rolling my eyes at his grin.
We payed the bill and left a tip for the unfriendly waitress, you wouldn't think of us as killers...well I wouldn't but maybe just maybe I'll pay the waitress a visit...
I hopped into the car and started the engine. As Ray opened the door I told him,
"Let me drive, okay?" I laughed as the words came out of my mouth.
Ray just rolled his eyes and nodded.
"Look, that guy looks reasonably wealthy." said Eric pointing at a guy sporting his new shiny Rolex.
"Nice job, kid." Ray said giving Eric the thumbs up
"We won't forget his face." I said flashing my white teeth.
Ray ruffled Eric's hair and hopped in the car, Eric joined him.
I drove on thinking to my self, well Eric and Ray planned a sneak attack on the man with the shiny new Rolex and memorizing his car's number plate.
I was not looking forward to seeing the boss, he might have picked us all off the street but he still treats us like shit.
"He won't get Eric involved in his dirty work; my brother will have a normal life."
I thought tighting my grip on the stirring wheel.
I had a funny feeling that something bad was about to happen.
Okay, hey guys!! PLS tell me what you think?? And I will wright more it gets really good.
