Once upon a time.... Jk. Lets cut the fairy tail crap. My life is far from a fairy tail...

We're waiting backstage, ready to be called out. I'm with my showchoir group. We're from Ohio. But we got asked to sing the national anthem and 'New York New York' (changing the actual New York part to LA) at one of the Lakers game, and of course we said yes. So our music director Charles picked the top 10 singers in the four sections (1st soprano 2nd soprano alto and bass) and here I am. I always think I'm a bit lucky, since the ages are 10-18, and mostly the older kids get ranked higher. But I'm here, 12, turning 13 very soon. Only two other of my friends got called for the concert.

"Emily! Set your New York costume!" One of the most bossiest bitches in this whole group told me. Unfortunately shes ranked high too.

"Dude, its a sparkly hat and gloves. Not much to set." I called back. She rolled her eyes and stuck her middle finger up, walking away. Sadly she's also my age. Fuck her.

"Warmups!" Charles calls. The workers start to place us in our rows.

"Hm, haven't grown much have we Em?" Ka, one of the workers who I love to death asks.

"Nope. 5 foot till the death of me." I joke back. She laughs.

"Front row then babe. Inbetween Dylan and Ally." I smile back. Dylan I like. Ally, shes the bitchy girl. I go to make my way in between them.

"Emily god scoot down I'm squished."

"Your in a showchoir with 40 kids in 4 rows. It's gonna happen." Once again the eye roll.

"It's not all about you." She sneers.

"Fuck off. Kay?"

"Scale in triplets!" Charles calls.

"Do re mi fa.." We all began.

We're all just mindlessly chatting, until Charles tells us we're gonna make our way up. We all immediately shut up, and row by row we go up into the huge arena. The stands are packed! That never happens in Ohio. The crowd starts to quiet down once we're all up.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please stand and put your hand on your hearts, for the singing of the national anthem by the Singing Angels." We start singing our harmony filled rendition:

"Oh say can you see..."

When we're done, the crowd goes wild. We all smile big, and then the dancers and I quickly go and grab our hats and gloves.

"We have one more song for you. When your hear the beginning, you're sure to know what it is!"

"Start spreading the news..." Some of the audience start singing. But when we say,

"I wanna be a part of it LA, LA," Everyone starts laughing. Soon our que is up, and we make our way in formation. Scooping with our hats, and soon ending with a rocket type of jumping with our legs going straight out. When we finish, the dancers do a kind of sexy scooping thing. Once again, the crowd goes wild.

"Ladies and gentleman, the Singing Angels."

We come backstage, and Ka explains to us where we are sitting to watch the rest of the game. Since we sang, most of us got to sit in the VIP section. She handed us our tickets.

"Here you go Emily." She winks at me, and I'm confused until I check my ticket and see I'm literally 2 rows away from the court.

"Ohmygosh thank you!" I gush, throwing my arms around her. She laughs.

"Have fun." I grin.

"Emily where are you sitting?" My friend Jess asks. I tell her my seat number, and she grins.
