I stepped out of my apartment building, breathing in the clean air. it's not quite winter, but it's not exactly fall weather either. I don't mind the cold all that much, so I'm wearing my tank top any way. I walked down the streets of New York, seeing people taking down their fall decor. Fall isn't my favorite season, it's my least actually, so I don't put up decorations or get into the "fall spirit", no matter how much people around me are.
The streets weren't busy, but they weren't silent. Just how I like it. I adjusted my sun glasses and continued walking down. I walked into the old music store for the third time this week, still indecisive of wether to get the old-time Christmas record, or the Rock & Roll record from the early nineties. There was only one worker out, and he was putting away some CDs and sweeping up the leaves that customers had dragged in. He was rather attractive, messy blonde hair and brown eyes. I don't remember ever seeing him here before, maybe he's new. He looks around my age, anywhere from 16-20, around here it's hard to tell.
"Looking for something?"
I heard the voice behind me and was a little startled, I was just looking at the records below me thinking about him.
"No, thank you, just very indecisive at the moment." I replied without glancing at him. His voice wasn't very deep, but it was deep enough to show he has grown up from younger self. It gave me chills as he walked up behind me, looking to see what I was.
"I'd go with the Christmas one myself, I've listened to the other a few times in here, just testing some of them out. It's not bad or anything, I just don't generally like it." He said softly. His voice mesmerized me, it was smooth I could tell, but a little raspy, maybe because of a cold. So that's what I went with, the Christmas one. I bought it from him, said goodbye, then walked around the city for about another half hour before returning home because it started getting darker and colder, the curse of getting dark at 5:30.
🌸
As I got home, I turned on the record player, not the Christmas one just yet, but some classical. I only turn this on as background music, I don't usually pay much attention to it. Since it is a Friday night, that meant my favorite show was coming on. Not a new episode, but a rerun of last weeks. That's how it works for some reason, they play a new episode every two weeks, and in between is a rerun of the previous weeks episode. It's not on Netflix, Hulu, or anything. Only available on TV, and I might be the only person who watches it. Quickly, I put my hair in a bun and got in the shower and washed my body and face. I then changed into an over-sized sweater and some of my fuzzy shorts and fuzzy socks. I made myself some green tea, then sat down on the couch with my bear and a blanket, waiting for The Grey Matter to come on. I turned off the record and then got out my laptop, I still had about ten minutes until 7, when the show came on.
I was in the midst of checking my blog and social media sites when my mom came home. She works at a veterinary shop about twenty minutes away, and my dad is an accountant. He grocery shops every two weeks, the week of the reruns. I closed my laptop then got up and hugged my mom, asking what was for dinner. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, "Chinese?" Of course, I didn't object. So, she changed out of her work clothes and called my dad to tell him our orders, and then he would bring it home. I got a text from Ashleighann, my almost sister. I just call her Ash for short, but most people say she looks more like a Leann. She was saying how she wasn't going to be able to hang out tomorrow like we usually do, she had to go to a family picnic.
"Another Grey Matter rerun?" my mom joked. She was used to me being like this every Friday, watching the show on the couch. I just laughed a little and nodded my head. The show started right as I was making another cup of tea. I can see the TV from the kitchen partially, and besides, I've already seen this episode. My mom sat beside me as we watched the hour long episode, my dad getting home about halfway through a yogurt commercial. I kissed him on the cheek as he sat on the seat on the left of the couch, kissing my mom before he sat. I made a gagging face like a little kid one, and the laughed at me.
I noticed that all I was thinking about was the worker at the music store, wondering who he could be. What his name is, where he's from, why I've never seen him before. I even noticed I slight resemblance between him and Aja, the main character of TGM. Aja is more structured and bulky than him, but still similar hair color and eye color. But that's where the resemblance stops.
🌸
He was in my dream last night. The dream was nothing special, just me out Christmas shopping and he was at the town mall walking around with some other girl. He is truly beautiful, even in my dream. He walked gracefully, and his voice addictive. And today, when I had nothing else to do, I blogged all day, and in a lot of posts I was reminded of him. I don't even know his name.
🌸
